Banks will not even guarantee their own cashiers checks,,, but will deduct the funds from your account weeks later when they find out its bogus...

Also using a fake postal money order is a felony,, and the FEDS do take that very seriously... Across state lines even more so...

I only accept postal money orders when dealing on gunbroker,,, buying and selling ,,, because the FEDS will get involved either way if things go south..

Never have had a problem with them,, and I can ship the product as soon as cashed..... Win-win...

    Cheers..

Thank you, I will do this from now on. I'm kind of worried about my personal info is out there now.

He was never going to have you ship to a FFL. He would have given you a real FFL name/number with an address that was not for that FFL.

Your personal info, and everyone else's, is ALREADY out there from various sources and data breeches. So don't sweat it.

Ask a moderator to check his IP Ddress to see if he is local, because he now knows an address where there are firearms kept.

Would you want a scammer to know you own firearms at your house? Very few info is linked to you and firearm ownership with personal info

I would be concerned that the guy has your address and knows you have at least one rifle.

That's what I'd be concerned with.

Yes I'm new to it. Wanna know the crazy part? I was suspicious when he asked for all that info so I went to my local FFL... showed him the messages and the entire conversation. I asked if they thought it was legit and if I should give him my info.... they said it sounded legit so I went thru with it.

Very few small fraud cases are prosecuted regardless of whether the person can be found. Building a criminal case takes time and money, way more than the value of a rifle. It would be your loss and the Earth would keep spinning.
