Doesn't apply to featureless - LCMs otherwise legal to own may be used in featureless centerfire semi-automatic rifles.

Again, only until the LCM ban takes effect and can be enforced.

Pretty well. I have Some 30 round mags I didn't open till 2015 and have seen one range trip since 1998. So brand new with minor wear if any.

Let's get some things straight again. California law does not represent world law. Fact. So in 45+ other states (which simply means on different land) and hundreds of countries you can shot any type of magazine you choose. Fact.

I don't care if this is a California only site. Last I checked, it was not.

People did rebuild legally owned mags with new parts repair kits prior to parts kits being banned.

Pretty good, especially if one has a lot of them to rotate.

Not sure if it was intentional or a mistake, but penile is not the same as penal.

Perhaps you can buy a part kit, dump the old drum and rebuild it? If I could find the parts that is exactly what I would do. Then, I would remove all the other parts and replace them with the remaining parts from the parts kit.

Nothing has changed. We've always been able to legally use our legally owned +10 round magazines in Ca as long as we were not creating an illegal AW by doing so.

I've got some from WWII that are still holding up fine. I know of some from the 1860 and 1870's that still function. Why do think that a 20 year old mag won't be holding up??????

We were allowed to repair them, as long as we didn't create an additional "high" capacity magazine when doing so. We could legally replace every single part and essentially have a new magazine.

i know this was a sarcasm post but just in case other users don't read it as such.

the only thing that wears out in a magazine is really the spring (maybe follower)

i'm sure those who thought ahead had bought a few extra springs before the rebuild kit ban in 2014.

I bought a few 30-rounders in the late 90's even before owning an AR. They're holding up fine.

It's perfectly legal (for as long as the injunction is in place) to replace any part of your large-capacity magazines as needed. The ban on LCM "repair kits" is not a ban on replacement magazine parts, it's simply a ban on purchasing a kit that contains enough parts to make another complete magazine.

Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

No state crime is committed by the simple possession of a LCM (while the injunction is in effect). I'll let the lawyers on this forum opine as to the effect of the injunction on local bans.

But we all should note that one creates an Assault Weapon when a centerfire rifle with a fixed magazine has a capacity of more than ten rounds (refer to PC 30515(a)(2)). The "Bullet Button" creates a fixed magazine. Put one in of more than 10 round capacity and you have created an AW. The injunction has not effect on California's AW laws.

At the same time, there is nothing in the injunction that affects the legal nuisance status of large capacity magazines.
