I went just to donate to Calguns and ended up with 500 rounds of .38 super and a handforged Japanese Tanto style knife (Kelly Ward, Hard Edge Knives)

The parking attendant that took my parking fee said "welcome to the ammo show!" and boy was he correct.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Thank you sir - here are a couple of pics for those who didn't see it before I got my grubby paws on it. Interestingly, according to the SCSW, it should come with a .400 serrated target trigger -- I recall (and it the pic it looks like) a .500 to me. These were only made from 1991-1994.

The Fresno show was crazy too. PRK arms was steadily packed. Miwall was swamped.....a sign of the times?

Miwall madness. Maybe they should have three tables--reloading, bulk purchases for real shooters, and a table with all the smaller stuff.

I got two cans of loose packed Federal Lake City XM193 for about $470.00.

I thought that was a decent deal.

I also bought 100 stripper clips for $20.00 and a strip LULA.

I didn't know how difficult it would be to put 1,000 rounds on to stripper clips but it wasn't too bad. I had three pairs of latex gloves expecting some tears but I wound up using only the first pair.

After I was done with that I tried out the strip LULA. It works very well, just the thing for quickly loading my 10 round magazines.

Speaking of that, I found one booth selling D&H 10 rounders for $20.00 so I bought all eight that they had, then when I finally found the one booth with Strip LULA's, they had C-products 10 rounders for $18.00, oh well.

I found the mini freelock kit that I was looking for. I also saw Prince50 kits, Bullet Button kits, Radlock kits and one place had B16's. I think one place had Monsterman grips but I didn't see any U-15 stocks.

I almost bought a cool railed Vltor gas block with flip up front sight but I passed. I'll probably regret that.

Saturday at Ventura was much of the same with lines about 300 people deep to get in all day. I scored the last 8lb jug of Varget that Miwall had about 10 minutes after the show opened! There were no large rifle primers to be found and it turns out that a local gun store bought them all right before the show opened. I heard this from the store owner. CWS had an entire rack of Golanis with mags in place ready to be fondled at $1000+ each. One vendor was selling 30rd AK and AR rebuild kits. He said that they were legal to assemble and use regardless of whether the buyer had pre-2K mags to rebuild. He would not listen to my clarification of the law on this stating that he had verified this with DOJ to be true and said "I have been a dealer for many years and know the law".

I went sat morning and waited in line to get in. stopped by the calguns booth and bought a tshirt and then headed over to miwall to buy some ammo. I waited about 5 mins to be helped and picked up 500 rd's of 40 for 95 bucks and 500 rd's of 45acp for 125. tryed to get some powder and bullets but they were sold out at that point.

the one thing i was happy about was that as i was leaving i stopped by the 5.11 area and noticed that they had a C.U.B. Master's Model Tactical Knife.

I had been looking to buy one of these for about the last year but was waiting till i found a good price, and it ended up being there last model and they were selling all their knives at the show for 65 bucks

I was a little confused when they handed me the box and it had the tag on it for the 89 dollar version of this knife but upon inspection of the knife it was the one i wanted and for 65 bucks i couldnt pass it up

Was Sonoma Firearms there? I don't know if the legal issues are behind them or not. I intend to throw some business their way soon.

I never can understand why people argue with dealers at gunshows - Easier to just walk away.

Or just laugh and then walk away: a Romanian AK47 kit for $500.00 at the Cow Palace show...

There were 3 LPKs on a table. I asked the vendor how much and he said $200. IIf I had had my wits about me I would have asked for all three. But he meant for one. No it was not CWS.

Does anyone remember the price of a case of .45, .38 special, and .357 mag?

                                Thanks.
