And if going the gp100 route, I would recommend the match champion, I love mine!

I have the SP-101 3" with a fiber optic front sight and Pachmayr Diamond pro grips.
Very nice gun and fun to shoot.

Toss a few more bucks on the shotty budget and get a Moss or Rem with a 28 and 18" they have nice sales at turners (ya I said turners) then add the shockwave, you get 2 shotties for one for a few more dollars.

Clays to Zombies named Trey you will have it covered.

IMO,the Ruger is a better investment. In 10 years it will probably be worth more than what you paid.
I purchased a Maverick 88 a couple months ago and a Moss 590SP a few weeks later (100.00 more for the Moss) Both guns cycle very good, no problems at all. I bought these for truck\camp guns. There's nothing like #1 buck and rifled slugs through these two.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

You among all of us should know better than to ask CGr's for advice on what to purchase.

My vote, the S&W 500 with the 4" barrel.

SP101 , I have one with the 3" barrel , great for camp/hiking/home ....with 38's it's easy to use , it's got a bit of a bite with hot 357's , more so on the ears then the hand , it's one of the "keeper" guns that I own...

it's a Ruger...they don't wear out and hold there value.

Can't speak to the 88, but I sold my 101 after a short time.

I never really liked it after I shot it. It was heavier and bulkier than it looked. Not that fun to shoot either.

But like you Kes, I really liked the way it looked and felt "until" I fired it and tried to carry it.

I considered both of these myself (although the SP101 would of been my 2nd one) and vote SP101.
Wanted to send it off and have the cylinder cut for 9mm and moonclips but bought a LCR 9mm when they came out instead.
Get the SP101 and send it off to Gemini Customs.
