      Target shooting I believe is legal but you need to look it up. Hunting is illegal after dark. 30mins after sundown if I remember right.

        Call locally and clarify for your area. Generally ok in the sticks/non-incorporated areas. Night shooting is fun so long as you are sure of your back stop.

        Try it with steel, and flares behind the steel.
        Its also a good time to practice with your light, malfunction drills, etc.

        And I hear some ranges have night shoots (though not the club I belong to).

          Generally, hunting at night is illegal unless you are hunting within the provisions set by DFG. There are 12V and 9V light restrictions in certain parts of the state and cartain animals that you are allowed to pursue at night, along with other general restrictions you must follow.

          Heres the DFG regs. read em if you are so inclined.

            22.014 Prohibition of Night Shooting.
            It shall be unlawful to shoot or discharge any firearms between one-half hour after sunset and one-half hour
            before sunrise of the following day in all areas of San Bernardino County described in Section 22.011 (a) through (j).
            Adopted Ordinance 2499 (1980)

            22.011 (h) DESERT AREA.
            Beginning at the southeast corner of Section 33, Township I South, Range 7 East, said
            southeast corner being also on the County boundary between San Bernardino and Riverside Counties; thence north

            Looks like a no go in those areas covered by 22.011 (h)... is there BLM land there? If so, I wonder if that is considered SB County?
