Shepherds hooks may be the way to go. The range I use most often is 50% of the time rather swampy at the 200yd line. "Swampy" , meaning heavily soaked topsoil and grass. Wear sneakers and the socks get wet but boots keep them dry if you don't linger in it. What's the odds of them remaining secure in something like that?

I think it will hold just fine. I use it in sandy soil and never had it come out. The flexibility of the hook absorbs a lot of the billets energy.

Hey , thanks a lot you 2 guys. I think I will be able to loose the saw horses for rifle distances. Been nice to have you guys give me advice a lot of years ago and save me all that hassle .... but better late than never
