    Home alarm permit application

    Hi all,

I just got a self install home alarm but my city requires it to be permitted with the local police dept.

On the application there is a line if you have firearms to disclose.

Just wanted to know if you guys disclose that info on the alarm application.

    Thanks...

I don't recall, but if it did, I told the truth.

Don't want cops not expecting me to be armed, and shooting me by mistake.

I have to have an alarm permit as well. Just re-applied earlier this year. However, there was no such question on the application (Los Angeles).

Can you leave it blank and submit the forum? Or is it a required field? Don't know how I feel about that one. I

Although officers should never assume a bad guy is unarmed, I was told that officers responding to a burglary are more "hairs up" if they know there is a firearm in the home...burglar could grab it n all.

Ok, thanks everyone. I'll put it in just in case they get a hold of anything and used it against the Police.

They are secured but you never know...

What happens if they deny your permit application?

I doubt if they have ever denied anyone. It is for gathering info to help when responding plus a few bucks for the city.

Seems reasonable. And reasonably likely to ruffle the tin foil hats of many a Calguns member.

And they get to revoke it after a few false alarms.

A permit for your home alarm? Like "Please, my master bureaucrats, will you take my money and allow me to secure my home and protect my family and belongings?"

What a joke our "free" country has become.

My city has that same permit mentioned on their website. An alarm was installed in the past 6 years. Never filled it out. Officers have been dispatched to my home since then. No one ever asked, "you got a permit for that?"

Keep your money and get the alarm installed.

I disclosed my firearm, I figured the responding Officers might take the alarm more seriously if firearms are at risk of being stolen, might not come into play but it couldn't hurt.
