I did not buy casters as I don't want someone wheeling my stash away. With ammo, they have to weigh 600+ pounds. I thought about buying the larger box, but I didn't want to reach all the way down. My tummy get's in the way. I might be buying a third to house more Ammo before the 2018 deadline.

No knives on the inside lid unless you want to stab yourself after you lift the lid.

Definitely anchor that pup to the floor. Sandwich some 2x4s underneath. BGs have no problems taking similar boxes away loaded down with a thousand pounds of construction tools.

Look at a real GI ammo can. Open it up and look at the black rubber gasket on the inside lid. That should give you some kind of idea for making a seal.

Camouflage the outside with 'College Books', 'Christmas', 'Dishes', 'Cloths & Blankets'.

Nice work. Although I kinda like the patina before paint. But I understand that ascetics sometimes trumps opsec. Maybe make a cardboard box covering that says "donations" written in sharpie.

I was thinking this aswell... or you know the wooden things that hold all your kitchen knifes how it has a slot for each... take that concept and make it flat, with slots for the blades. Thin enough to be in the lid, but thick enough to hold blades....
