I was at the range today with my modified, sealed with epoxy Hexmag Series I mags shooting my BB'd featured weapon. I shot six of the magazines with full or less than full magazines, and seated them with bolt open and bolt closed. I was pleasantly surprised, they stayed in.
I believe the trick is to gently guide them into the mag well and nearly seat them, and then go to the bottom of the mag and 'slam' it in. Don't be shy about it.Comment

Hey, the other thread was started as an inquiry what to use to seal my Hexmags in an attempt to render them permanently altered to accept no more than 10 rounds.
Naturally, i can no longer gain ready and easy access to the contents to clean them without damage to the magazine. I felt good about it because as it turned out I was shooting next to a LEO with those unmarked 30 round magazine bodies.
And don't be coy about solvents developed to remove epoxy. Nothing is really 'permanent'. The question becomes is it 'permanent enough' to pass muster?
Anyone who believes it is permanently altered if you can easily and readily remove the baseplate merely by pressing that button, remove the internals, and clean the magazine doesn't really understand the intent of the law. Foolish, very foolish indeed.Last edited by ifilef; 03-19-2017, 11:26 PM.Comment

Consider applying epoxy to the baseplate to seal the magazine shut. I now feel quite comfortable shooting those 30 round magazine bodies blocked to 10 rounds with the exterior sealed with epoxy.
