NFA Trust Question

People used to use a trust because it was easier. Now a trust may have more steps, but there are benefits over owning as a person. I do not have NFA items, the trust does. My wife and I are trustees, and my daughter is a survivor trustee. If my suppressor was owned as an individual, my wife couldn't have access to it if I wasn't around. As she is a trustee, I can keep it in our money safe rather than needing a separate safe.

But now every responsible person on the trust has to send a form 23, a passport style photo no older than one year, and duplicate FBI FD-258 rolled fingerprint cards, including copies of all those to the CLEO, for every transfer or application done by the trust.

That is the Benefit of a Trust. You Could add anybody to it.

Anyone added to your trust now has to practically submit a form 4(fingerprint, Picture, Info, and background check) as if there were purchasing it themselves.

Ya, It made it easier for individuals.(No cleo signature, and no need for a trust)

But, If you were looking to pass down your "toys" in case of your death.
Trust is the only way to go.

I saw that I need photos. Where would I get my fingerprints done at?

Send barrel and tube to safety harbor for modification
Get Form 1 approval
Engrave AOW
Install barrel and tube

Takes less than 30 days.

If you buy the AOW complete it's 1-6 months for form 3 from SH to your class III dealer. Then 12+ months for form 4 from your dealer to you

Yeah, what's the trick? I submitted two SBR trust Form 1's back in late June 2016 via eForm... the first one was just approved last week!

Yup, same with a friend of mine. Maybe he's talking about an SOT getting the Form 1. If so, that's not a realistic timeframe for a non-licensee.

I mailed out my Form 1 today. Let's see how long it takes

Initially an empty schedule was included for mine...Also made my self the sole responsible person.
