was there today to sight in a couple of my rifles, decent crowd not to busy but two things changed from the last time i was out there january. 1) fifty yard range is only for 22's 2) if you are not a frequent flyer the staff will boresight your rifle first before allowing you to shoot, from what i was told this its regardless if you already have your rig zeroed the good thing is you only need to do it once as long as you have the range master sign that it was already done. not a rant just informing the others to allow extra time. all in all fun times and now the 4 i brought is zeroed at 100 yards.

I'm not sure if this was the issue, but the handgun action shooting range is on the other side of the backstop of the long gun range (not sure which one, but maybe .22?). I believe sighting in may be a precaution to avoid inaccurate or inexperienced shooters bouncing their bullet off the ground, bullet flying over the backstop into the action handgun action shooting range, and possibly hitting someone.

^ yup. anyways they couldnt boresight the AKs i have with me i ended up doing it myself on the bench...worked out great. and yes the staff there are good people.

This is THE dumbest rule I've heard of for awhile. What the heck is the point again? Just how does this improve safety?

I was thinking of going to RRGC because Livermore has become, well, retarded beyond belief. They've got the 100 yard closed right now because they had a small land slide covering a portion of the 100 yard line. So I asked them why they didn't just move the targets in to 90 yards instead of closing the whole thing. The answer I got was complete blather.

These ranges need someone with brains and good business sense to run them. Its really sad.
