shoot offhand with the appropriate rifle on the 200 in a highpower match.

I went with someone who is a member there. I liked the range. Seemed a lot cleaner than San Leandro. Also, RRGC allows fmj

Seems ranges in the bay ares are becoming an endangered species. It's all part of the bay area "master plan".

Do they force you to let them dick around with your optics and rifle?

                Screw. That.

The RO didn't touch my rifle or optics. Just looked down the bore and optic to verify. I made the adjustments.

Let's clear up some FUD here shall we?

                          A) Yes, boresighting is happening on all boresightable rifles; takes a few seconds, be patient please

                          Why?
                          2 reasons:
                          1) People are shooting the ground and bouncing rounds over the berm and they're landing on the action range and 2) People are shooting into blue sky.

Many of the rifles that have been boresighted are so completely off it's not even funny so it's a good thing.
If you don't want the rangemaster touching your optics, tell them.

                          B) Membership. To be a member you have to be recommended by a member in good standing. What does membership get you? Discounted rates for shooting rifle range and skeet. Access to various social events throughout the year in the clubhouse. Able to rent space in the storage area.
$300/year for a storage spot. No commerical storage allowed.
Beginning in June membership is $75/year with a one-time $250 initiation fee. Membership is annual and dues are due in May.

To be a member, get to know someone who is one and show you're a decent person. They'll sign for you.

                          C) If you've got a complaint, volunteer and help fix the problem. Every single person you see working there is a volunteer except the caretaker and the bartender. Some of those guys put in 40+ hours/week volunteering so we can go shooting and have fun.

If you have any questions about RRGC please feel free to PM me. I'll be happy to answer any questions or direct you to someone who can. The club is special in the bay area and we are doing all we can to make sure we do not violate any laws or give the local governments any more reason to try to shut the club down.

Pandanin, you work there? That's encouraging to have on here.

Haha, I get why they do it, they get newbs like me that have no idea what they are doing.

When I was in the Air Force, I shot, and the RSO adjusted my sights. We did this for a bit until it was better. I can hit paper at 300 yds with irons. (Well, a paper silhouette really tiny to appear 300 yds away)

                              I volunteer there yes.

Most of the range officers and members of the Board of RRGC are on Calguns.

I was at Richmond a few months ago and there was a shooter with an AR with no sights at all. Not like folded, nothing. I told the range master since I actually saw him firing and know that they are careful about missing the berm, and the range master told me, "he has not gotten his sights in the mail yet, they are coming soon"

                                What?!?!

I can't shoot without a boresight and cant shoot my AR pistol at all but this guy does not need sights?!?

I really appreciate the Richmond range and I want to do everything I can to keep it open. I happily let them boresight my rifles and did not complain about the AR pistol rules since it is one of the few places in the bay that will let me use them at all anymore, but seems like maybe we need to look at what is happening and try to find a better solution. I can't deal with another range closing.
