    richmond range

was there today to sight in a couple of my rifles, decent crowd not to busy but two things changed from the last time i was out there january. 1) fifty yard range is only for 22's 2) if you are not a frequent flyer the staff will boresight your rifle first before allowing you to shoot, from what i was told this its regardless if you already have your rig zeroed the good thing is you only need to do it once as long as you have the range master sign that it was already done. not a rant just informing the others to allow extra time. all in all fun times and now the 4 i brought is zeroed at 100 yards.

Sounds almost as bad as Livermore range they only allow bench shooting which is weird but there aren't that many good places to shoot in the Bay Area anymore just a few.

I heard the reason for the change was people were accidentally shooting over the dirt berm. I think they're temporarily banning anything bigger than .22lr from 50y until they get the berm fixed. I've been there a few times but not since they've made the change(this is a fairly recent one, too as they didn't have that requirement a couple weeks ago). From my own experience, the staff is mostly helpful and friendly

                What is this sponsored thing?
"It is currently CA legal to modify a double-action revolver into a single-action revolver and modify a single-action revolver into a double-action revolver.

CA DOJ BOF stance on modifying handguns only applies to dimensionally compliant bolt-action single-shot pistols and dimensionally compliant break-open single-shot pistols.
^It does not apply to revolvers, manually operated repeating pistols, and semi-auto pistols." ~~ Quiet

They have a membership program. I never really inquired about it myself but based off Cadre's posts I'm assuming you need to be sponsored to be a member

any interest in highpower? I'm a member(200yd line is where I'll be) ,become aquainted with the others, let it be known your interest in shooting, familiarize yourself with the facility and membership follows.
Its a small ordeal ,but makes a nicer facility for everybody.

That is not correct...The club is still accepting applicants and is processing memberships.

They also stopped allowing offhand shooting and ar pistols are now only I the pistol line. Where can you go around here to shoot prime and offhand? Or ar pistols. This area is getting crazy!
