    .45 ACP or 10mm?

Between .45 ACP and 10mm, which should I pick? Please give me the analysis with cost and pros and cons. Thanks.

    .45acp is short range round.

    10mm has legs.

Although you can buy .45acp at Walmart.

.45acp will not tear up your hands.

10mm in any 1911 Platform results in short weapon life. 2500 round count expect to buy a new gun. Glocks makes the only true 10mm that can perform without hickups.

Before all the Dan Wesson and Colt Fan boys jump on in. I have killed one if each with 10mm or a .460rowland.

1911 platform can not handle the big round power.

What is your primary use going to be?
Are you looking for a 1911 frame or something else?
Both calibers are great and if you reload I feel the advantages start to sway towards the 10mm.
I love both but for some reason have been on a 10mm kick the last few years.
Just wish there were more options for pistols when it came to 10mm.
If you're not roster exempt or can attain off roster pistols then 45 might be the better option if your looking for variety.

G29 with a ported barrel like this

Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

          No brainer, .45.

No explanation required, should be obvious why.

10mm for me. It's perfect in a glock 20. Works for HD and hunting. Can shoot .40s&w for plinking with no mods.

I think the question you need to answer first is do you want a 1911 or glock. The answer to that will guide you in the right direction.

Not obvious. It depends on what you are using it for.

              I own .45s, but I want to buy a 10mm for the mountains I think a G20. A .45 is a good short range defensive weapon, but I'll take a 10mm for the mountains.

              For HD a 9mm or .45. JMHO

No brainer, get a 10MM. Glock model 20 or if you can find one a model 40. The 10MM will do everything the .45 will do plus much more. Why would anyone consider a .45 when the 10MM is available.

45acp. If you need more power get a 41mag or 44mag revolver.

So you don't overpenetrate your target, so you can get more bullets out faster as the recoil is lower, because ammo is cheaper.

I'm not judging, are those realistically better to the OP needs? Or if this a mountain lion hunting gun?

FUD. I've run thousands and thousands of rounds thru Smith 10's without a worry. Glock 10's need an aftermarket barrel from the get go.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Ok, truth be told, don't buy a 10mm if you have small or weak hands. You need big and strong hands to keep that 10mm on target for that fast second round. Course with a 10mm you likely won't need the second and third shots you need with the 45.

I like how people say get a 10mm if you reload... That way you can load it to what a .40S&W would be. LOL.

If I needed a handgun for hunting or a one shot one kill, no followup shot situation, I'd go with a .44 magnum or .500 S&W. But I have strong hands so 10mm might be easier for those with weak wrists.

And that boys is how a pissing contest begins. Good job OP, awesome troll thread.

Must of missed that notice as well as 99% of other glock shooters. And why handload down to .40 when you can just shoot .40? The glock is ready to go.
