Why **** it up for them too? Why not try to get our rights back instead of dragging someone else down with you?

Because if it applies to the special people too, then maybe, just maybe, the special people will stop rolling over and saying "do what you want as long as it doesn't apply to me." By applying it to them too, it forces them to see it from our point of view and maybe start to understand that a constitutional right is being slowly and forcefully removed with their help.
