              There is no refrigeration in SHTF also it has to be at the perfect temp or else it will start to clot and you can't keep blood that long even refrigerated. Best option is to keep vessels alive via tube feeding, cans of protein shake and carnation instant breakfast is cheap and easy scavenge in the wasteland. Blood on the other hand is a valuable commodity, only 2nd to ammo.
