First we need to compile a list of addresses for new med school grads. The old timers are useless to us unfortunately since they won't survive for too long. Also I hear there are some good back alley surgeons just south of the border. People there tend to have the entrepreneurial spirit as well.

      Can get blood from anyone.

Lucky if you have it. Can't change what you are.

The Nazis did that in WW2. Drain the prisoners dry of blood. You'd be in good company.

Not worth it for the ROI. You gotta feed, cloth, and the water consumption alone would be draining.

You're better off just shooting them with a Glock .45 acp. That way it won't kill them, then hole will be just a flesh wound and you could attach a bucket to catch the drippings and come back later to pick up the bucket!

You're right, and when they eventually die well that's enough food to feed 5-6 people for a month!

We should get our Blood Type sewn on our SHTF Calgun patches so when one of us goes down we know if they are worth saving!

When SHTF, you need High-octane crazy blood

I think AB is rarest. FYI don't get blood on guns most people know that I'd think but if you don't it rusts guns badly. I had an old school prejudice grandma that needed an operation.

She banked her own blood and had a family friend do so as well. This is always a good idea but this was pre AIDS days. He reasoning was she did not want any Black blood! Uh OK. Maybe she was afraid of catching the sickle cell or something, I don't know. I miss her, I used to give her Kwanzaa cards at Xmas to piss her off.

I can't give blood. I don't like to anyhow. No I am not a homosexual or a prostitute but I lived in Europe too long during the era of mad cow which disqualifies me for life.

Blood transfusions have existed since the early 1800's but weren't safe until the discovery of human blood types was made in 1901. Direct human-to-human transfer was possible using the technology of the day and could be performed under austere conditions in an SHTF scenario provided one has a compatible donor, some very modest medical equipment and someone present who can reliably tap a vein. We have a medical professional on our team and I am confident he could perform the task given the necessary prerequisite of an IV line and a suitable donor, assuming the cause of the blood loss had been adequately addressed.

A lot can be done to address shock caused by blood loss by simply giving saline to make up the lost blood volume. Hypovolemic shock is what actually kills most people who lose blood (low blood volume). That can buy you time to actually locate a suitable donor or allow the patient to recover naturally -but with dilluted blood they are going to be weak and lack stamina untill the lost volume is replaced by donation or by nature.

Giving the wrong blood type is frequently fatal, although humans have actually survived receiving unknown amounts of animal blood via injection in the 1700's before the procedure was banned. There are also records of very "fresh" cadevers being used as donors, although the process was never widely used.
