and every place I've been, hand writes the next day as pick up day if they're not going to be open at pick up time/day.

Tough call on one hand I'm sure the "crew " is not out the door at closing time every business has closing procedures. And this is a Ffl so I'm sure theres more than just locking the door and leaving . And I doubt they leave at 5:30 . So start process have everything ready all paper work laid out and its a done job 5 min max . At the same time the store hours maybe for specific reason who knows .Or one could say maybe you should have looked at the Calendar and thought it through I know I do . But either way I wouldn't complain about it . Spend your money else where if you feel treated so badly .

I think you should contact Jackie Childs. You've got a case here.
Well it appears that they were open past 5:00 to sell the weapon and do the original DROS.

Unless of course they are open later on weekdays than on weekends.

Oh well.. tomorrow is a new day for me to spend my money at Guns Direct
I thought you only got a day off every 3 weeks?

Sounds like they taught you a lesson in gratification delay. Let me guess... millennial?

                Probably wasn't a weekend.

Also, the pickup was after closing - what did you expect?

Pretty sure you don't want someone showing up at your job and sayin, "gonna need you to come in Saturday. That'd be great."

CA has the worst customer service, because there's an endless supply of customers. Someone at Guns Direct will piss you off next as well.

Or at least say you are.
Most of the real "I was gunna's" buy online anyway so I'm sure you already bought your stuff and had UPS deliver it so you could be ready to go.

Negative. I'm a brick and mortar kind of guy... unless it's an impossible find.

If your time is so critical why did you not plan accordingly when you DROS'd instead of expecting others to cater to you? Perhaps if you would have went in when they opened that day it would have put your pickup time within your special window.

As a business owner? would you not wait 5 additional minutes to close if you had an additional $500-$750 in sales that day?
If during those 20 minutes you started putting all those items you say you were going to buy up on the checkout counter I bet they'd have stayed an extra 5 mins to release your weapon too. Or at least you'd make them feel like s h i t for not releasing it and maybe they'd have a change of mind.
