Even though it was a joke, it's worth pointing out that once you publicly disclosed it on the web it cannot be patented by someone else.

If such a patent was issued and someone tried to enforce it, this thread would represent sufficient "prior art" to invalidate the patent.

First off, it would not be a "single shot" rifle if it was still mag fed. Secondly, it's already been done and is being marketed in England.

if no one has brought it up, its been done and it works, it effectively turns a semiauto into "not a semiauto". a guy in engliand did it IICR

So has the DOJ already said no to this in the US? Someone said that because it's box fed it's still semi auto. My logic doesn't see it that way. But when does logic come into play when we are talking gun laws. Curious what happens if he holds the lever release down.

                Just found this

I'd like to add that the brits have no mag cap which essentially means after you register your AW the British have better gun rights than CA as it pertains to AR15's

How would that be different than TrackingPoint's Bolt Stop Device?

                          1. Nobody said it wouldn't function, almost unanimously the cognoscenti are saying it's not legal.

                          2. Mebbe posted the wrong link? That's a mag release block, not a bolt-holdy-open.
I meant, it is my opinion that...
