Absolutely. At first I thought they were just being smarta**es, but there is whole gun underground hiding in plain sight if you know the secret language. First off, look for "heavy shooter" in their ad you know they are really part of the gun underground. Then when you respond tell them you have some "poppers" (AKA ammo) and want to meet up. If they "can host" it means they have a private range or land where you can bring your unregistered or full auto stuff.

Give it a try. You'll be surprised what you find!

I bought gun from a fellow in a Home Depot parking lot a few weeks ago, and next week I will buy another from a fellow at Church. No criminals were involved or needed.

Someone is asked to sign a petition in support of Prop63 regarding ammunition to close a loophole that does not exist in California.
Nobody in that thread suggested breaking any laws.

                              Try again.
Again, a reference to something that does not exist in California.
That particular thread was specific to Illinois and only Illinois.
Posts (including the first) are all over the place, but does not appear to be any suggestions to violate California law.

                              Try again.
Likewise... discussing transfers out of state. OP specifically asking about it to refer a customer.
All but one post describe legal transactions, the one post that may be questionable... that poster is banned.

                              Try again.
Nope. Professor believes that the "gun show loophole" exists when it does not exist in California.

                              Try again.
                              Same situation.

                              Try again.
That thread was obviously being kept alive by an anti-gun troll, but again, nobody suggested breaking the law.

As stated thousands of times, the "gun show loophole" does not exist in California... nor technically in any other state.

All new guns sold by a dealer anywhere in the country require the purchaser to go through some form of background check. In some cases, a CCW provides an exemption, but that in and of itself is proof of clearing a background check that is far more intense than the simple NICS phone call normally used.

In MOST states, private party transfers may be done face to face by two private individuals without a background check.
This can be done in the Walmart parking lot, your living room... or at a gun show.
In free states, selling a gun is no different from selling any other item of personal property.

While it is possible for a felon to obtain a gun in this manner, it would not be legal on any state or federal level, and that in fact IS how most felons obtain their guns... even in states like California that require background checks and waiting periods for ALL gun transfers.
Felons don't care about the law, they don't need to go to a gun show to get a gun.

They call it the "gun show loophole" because it is a catchy phrase that people don't understand so they can push their propaganda.
If they called it what it actually is... "Private property sale exemption" it wouldn't sound evil... but that is exactly what it is.

But it does not exist in California.
*ALL* firearms transfers in California are required to go through an FFL, whether a gun shop, or an 03FFL for C&R guns.
The last of the "loophole" was closed in 2014 when private party transfers of C&R long guns in California were no longer permitted without an FFL (and all of the above threads are from before 2014 except the first one, which has nothing to do with the "gun show loophole" anyways.
*ALL* firearms transfers in California have a 10 day waiting period except for C&R guns, when the purchaser has both an 03FFL and a COE (again, extensive background check).

One thing that Obama specifically referred to cracking down on is private parties acting as if they are dealers.
This again has nothing to do with a loophole that involves gun shows... it's just that the show provides a convenient venue for the activity.
Someone setting up a table in the Walmart parking lot would likely be asked to leave... but nothing would stop them from setting up a table in their driveway.
If the person truly is operating as an unlicensed dealer, then that is already a violation of Federal law.
Like vendors that travel from show to show, there are also SOME... not a lot, but some, people who travel from show to show and claim to be selling their personal collection, when they are basically flipping inventory.

Either way... the "gun show loophole" has never had anything to do with obtaining an off-roster handgun in California.

Forgive what may seem obtuse questions; I work with a LOT of CA residents and just want to understand them more.

Let's say, just for argument's sake, we're both CA residents. At work one day, you mention you have a Smith and Wesson Triple Lock. I want one, so we decide to do the deal. I come over to your house, give you x number of dollars, and go home with one of the greatest revolvers ever made. Unless you or me tells somebody, how will anybody ever know we DIDN'T use a gun shop? How is this State law in any way enforceable?
