It looks like the design might add cumbersome and fragile bulk to the rifle.

I might use this if I did not have a plate carrier as my "bump in the night" setup.

Having only 10rds on a defense rifle is not a good idea. I got a plate carrier with mag pouches to carry more, but if I didn't have that, this would be a plausible alternative
