    Increase in 9mm cost

Was looking at purchasing a few more cases of 9mm for the shop and noticed that prices for 115gr FMJ seemed to have gone up almost a buck per box dealer price.

Anybody else notice this? Anyone experiencing any shortages yet?

no shortages - lots in stock.

Don't sweat a 2 cent increase per round.

They're just ramping up for the self-fulfilling election panic prophecy.

Outside of CalGuns people, I don't think most casual shooters in this state are yet aware of what awaits them after November 8. When they finally awaken and realize they have to have a California Ammo Permission Slip and ID, that they can't buy it anywhere else and sneak it across the border legally... THEN we'll start seeing a real ammo shortage.

Is anyone surprised by this? It's just the beginning of the end...

just to be safe, Im only going to the range maybe once or twice a year, since I dont know how long I can make it until I have resupply problems? It can happen anytime.

Yeah but the problem is that shooting is a perishable skill. If I take more than a month off I can feel the loss of skill when I finally get back...

there are ways to keep your skills, like shooting air rifles / pistols, dry firing drills, etc

also simulators like what the police use for training

you could also set up a rifle rest at home and practice aiming through a scope and dry firing, just to keep yourself familiar with the sighting, and repetitive aiming

I remember reading about a combat pistol Champion from the Philippines that didnt have access to a lot of ammo for training, so he did lots of dry firing drills without ammo and he was still able to win during competitions.

Why worry about the pennies / round now?...Nobody has really been standing up to oppose Prop 63 which will add a $50/year permit fee + $1.00 / purchase fee and that dwarfs .02/round. I tried to get people here to post "No on Prop 63" stuff on FB but nobody responded with agreeing comments. I also posted a proposal to do a march on Sacto, but nobody was interested.

I posted stuff on FB on my own page, and on BLM pages and saw several likes from the African American community when I talked about the $50 fee disproportionately affecting lower income people. Gotta get people to pay attention somehow.

Already been doing all of that except the simulators...that costs significant $.

A Benjamin Maurader precharger weighs as much as a real powder burner (9lbs) and is very accurate. 90% , < 1/4" at 30 yards from a rest. I commonly shoot it around the forest by my house at 30 - 50 yards to practice sighting a wild animal, raising the rifle, drawing a bead and firing as quickly as I can at a cardboard target stapled to a block of wood. A good practice simulation for hunting at 100 yards + with a rifle.
The .22 cal version is hard on rodents.

I was working on patenting a design for a laser bullet for home practice when Laserlyte came out with theirs. Damn, I took too long to get financing.

But none of this is as much fun as going to the range and shooting at all different distances, bench, prone, siting, off sticks, etc. 10 oz water bottles half filled at 400 yards is fun that's hard to beat. Same with metallic targets at various ranges with pistol.

Their reaction will be to sell their gun. Standby for some interesting pieces to come out of the closet........
