    Sacramento gun range

    Hello,
My daughter wants me to take her shooting. She lives in Sacramento, Watt Ave/Hwy 50 area. Are there any good indoor or outdoor ranges to take her to?

I like the Sacramento Gun Club. I take my teenage niece who is a new/beginner shooter there and it's a very nice facility and environment.

I went to the Gun Range once and didn't want to wait over an hour for a lane. I left without shooting.

the gun range gets pretty darn busy on the weekends. sac gun club is where you can usually get into a lane immediately.

Ya. The Gun Range can get busy during the eves and weekends but any gun range now is gonna be busy. If you can go during the day it isn't so bad. Not to mention they don't charge by the hour, just a single fee (at least I haven't been charged).

Outdoor would probably be either Lincoln or Rancho Cordova. Cordova Shooting is off Sunrise blvd and kind of a hole and closes early. If you go that far you might as well go to the Sac Gun Club by Bradshaw/Hwy 50. Last I heard, they do charge by the hour. I haven't been there myself so can't say as to how busy they are.

The Sacramento Valley Shooting Center is a great place to go, but it's a bit out to the east ("Carbondale"...east on Hwy 16 past Rancho Murietta, take the Ione turn-off south, there will be a sign on your right.) It's a huge outdoor facility, very well run, not crowded at all mid-week. Note - Wed/Thurs members only.

I've been to The Gun Range a few times, it's a good place to go, but yes it can get busy. Cool thing is while being an indoor range, they let you take whatever the heck you want in there. My buddy and I have taken our rifles and shotguns there, which is kinda stupid at 25 yards, but fun if you just want to shoot it. My 300 mag is like a cannon in there, shakes the dust off the ceiling, turns heads.

I second Sac Valley. Been a member there for a couple of years. Excellent facility, friendly & helpful RSOs and a safe place to shoot.

The Gun Range, Sac Valley Shooting Center, and Yolo Sportsmans Association are my favorites.
My AR is 7.62x39, so that if/when we get invaded, I can shoot their ammo back at them!

Another +1 for the Gun Range in North Highlands. If you get there right when they open on the weekends, or before 6PM on weekdays, I've never had to wait for a lane. You go middle of the day on Saturday and you'll be waiting a while...

If you want to shoot outside, Yolo Sportsman or Lincoln are good. Don't really like Cordova Shooting Center for anything other than clays

                        cant stand indoor ranges...bahhhhh

I like Lincoln the best for outdoor- then Cordova Shooting Center

Sac Valley Range is the best..but it is twice the distance from Sacramento as the above two.

If you can get a weekday..go to LINCOLN!!!! I shoot there and there might be 5 people mid week- check hours before you go though. Some days close early for neighbors dealing with cattle

I prefer the gun range. Yes it can be a wait.
When I go on Sundays, late morning and early afternoon can be busy. But around 6pm it will slow down.
I like the fact there is no stupid hourly fee and u can shoot rapid fire. And yes u can bring from small 17hmr to 50bmg.
                            With shotguns no bird shot.
I dont mind the wait. If your their with family or friends it isn't too bad
