There are so many ways to get caught.
#1 would be the first time your wife, girlfriend, boyfriend, neighbor, etc. got mad at you, they would inform the local gestopo, and then the games would commence.
Years ago, a friends brother in law was talking to the guy next to him at traffic court and mentioned that my friend had "something". Turns out the guy was a off duty policeman. A few days later, a multi agency task force was knocking on my friends door. He had a choice of surrendering the weapon with no charges, or they would get a search warrant and charge him to the max.
As they left, they mentioned that he could thank his bil with the big mouth.
I doubt that you would have the choice my friend had.

A friend and I had to explain featureless to a BLM ranger once, and he accepted the explanation (compared them to a Mini14 I think). We couldn't convince him it was legal to use >10rd magazines (he admitted they were old, said he couldn't tell they weren't Vietnam era) in them, but we weren't using them when he approached. We decided to keep them put away for the rest of the day just in case.

Anyways to answer your question, who cares? If a cop thinks it's illegal you are going to jail. Ya you may get released later if he was wrong but the saying "you might beat the wrap but you won't beat the ride" really applies here.


If you (or I mean some hypothetical other person ) really wanted to have a regular mag release, nobodies gonna know as long as you don't take your gun out of your safe.

Swapping a mag release for a bullet button though is so easy a retard could do it in 2 minutes. It wouldn't be hard to... Throw the Bb on while you're out in public and the regular mag release back on once you're back home. But the question is, are you really comfortable with that level of risk? Cuz it is illegal and if caught, you would be screwed.

I've got 2 kids and an ex wife who I know would fail them so as much as I hate the gov and the law, I'm not comfortable with that level of risk for something so minor.
