Find some old school lockers. Build your own shelves inside....Craigs list is a good spot. They make excellent ammo storage containers!!!

Yup. I have a $300 safe with a couple of thousand of rounds of ammo in it. Keeps things dry, safe, and very hard to move.

        Be prudent...

If you have a lot of ammo, lock it up too.

I outgrew my rifle safe, bought a new big one that now has room to grow

My old rifle safe is now the ammo safe... and yup, it's about full

All my ammo is in ammo cans and stored in the spare bedroom closet.

I feel these are the best bet for storing ammo. You can bolt em to the ground and double lock em. Great for handguns and other valuables
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

$250 for 16 cubic ft of storage? I guess that'd be good if you had less than 16 cubic feet of ammo, but crap....I'd need three of those and that starts to add up! I'll stick with my closet in my spare bedroom. If they get in past the dog and past the alarm I'll probably have bigger things to worry about than my ammo.

Keep them all in the metal mil-surp ammo cans and then run a chain through them and lock it up to the metal shelf there stacked on.

The ammo is almost... no change that IS WORTH more then the guns these days and hard to replace and will probably get even harder to replace.

Having the boxes chained together keeps them from walking off. Your average thief will not have bolt cutters with them,

If one has kids in the house it might be a good idea to at least put a lock on the closet door. Wouldn't want a little one to grab a couple rounds to take to school and show his friends. That would be bad hmmm-k!

always a good buy for numerous applications. you can pay an arm and a leg for old school lockers, or with a little patience and tenacity you can snag a great deal. i see old school lockers every month or so at the swap meet and usually at very reasonable cost.
