    Carrying while biking

Ok people, need some ideas on how to carry on the bike that allows a quick draw. This is happening right now on a trail I am on every single day, many times after dark. Any ideas? I have a CCW so no issues there.

Give up the spandex for awhile. Wear regular clothes and carry as usual.

Well first off, don't ride your bike at night. Just because you "can" or because it's your "right," doesn't make it a smart choice. I love running when it's cooler at night too, but I just don't.

Having your CCW isn't a piece of paper that states your "family jewels" are any bigger either.

As far as concealing a gun while biking, how about those 80's-ish styled fanny packs? They don't look as silly while biking, as they normally do when just walking around town with one.

First rule of CCW, avoid potential risk. Even though you have a right to go where you want when you want, common sense should prevail.
If you KNOW there are attacks occurring in a particular area, common sense would be to avoid it.

I always just pocket carry in the center jersey pocket.
Since you stated you regularly go through that area, I'm assuming you commute by bike. Any of the high intensity helmet mounted lights are a great tool. Hard for someone to attack when they can't see.
Sacramento has a ton of bike commuters. If you ride the same time every day, I'm sure you see some of the same people often. Strike up a conversation with them and from a riding group. Everyone out there has the same concerns.

Doesn't matter, guns are not allowed in the American River Parkway. It's for the children

This should fit the bill. The tripod head will bolt onto your bike. Just wear a long flowing cape

Forget biking . . . I don't know how to carry when I'm at the pool in my speedos!

Parks have thier own rules, CCW may not be allowed. Aside from that IWB works fine.

If you're one of those leg-shaver bicyclists, just a little duct tape to the thigh works.

I use this with a P3AT. Probably not the quickest, but works for my needs. I don't usually ride alone or at night. I also have a Spyderco knife clipped on my shorts.
