SCAR 17s now going for 5000?

Is this a joke or is this really the going price now? 2 months ago I saw a SCAR for 3000 at Ammo Bros riverside. Now I see these fools on the marketplace trying to get 5500 for one. Are people really that crazy to buy a single firearm at such a ridiculous price when youre either gonna have to register it as AW or nueter the crap out of it to make it featureless? Im sorry but I can wait until I move to the United States again.

Simple supply and demand. Those that didn't wait until the summer before an election got them at MSRP. Those that waited are paying a premium. Its the free market.

Actually, this has nothing to do with the 1st Amendment. The 1st Amendment only applies to government regulation, just like the rest of the Bill of Rights.

So yeah. Basically, people can tell you to shut up and move on. Of course, you're required to neither shut up or move on. Just like sellers have the right to list their rifle at whatever price they like, and if you don't like the price, you aren't required to buy it for that price.

Market prices are what they are. I would love to purchase gasoline for 99 cents a gallon like I did in the early 90's, but the current cost per barrel, and inflation, dictate what the current market price is. Just like the political climate dictates the cost and availability of guns. It doesn't help that the SCAR isn't a common rifle like an M&P Sport or Ruger 10/22. To many people, a SCAR falls under the "exotic" category, and commands the price as such.

If Clinton gets elected, this will be the price everywhere. There will be no "America" to move into. Just something to think about.

Personally, I would not give $500 for a Scar 17 or a Scar with any other number on it let alone $5000 or $6800. If you want one bad enough, order one from Gun Broker at a fair price.

Also, buying a Fugly looking rifle like a Scar 17 does not make you a super Operator or a Star Ship Trooper. However, I agree with some previous posts, it is still a free country. They sell Soda at the movies for $7.99 when you can get one at the store for $.99 cents or at Costco for $.35 cents. So, if you hate your money that badly, feel free to pay $5k, $6k or even 10K for a Scar, but that won't make you Israeli Special forces and you will most likely miss the paper completely at 100 yards anyways.

I have shot a fellow Calgunner's scar a few times we were at the range and will not trade an M1A for a half dozen Scars. There is nothing special about a Scar but the new fad and the fugly looks of it.

People who are looking to buy scars now didn't have the foresight to see California's political trends. It's unfortunate but that's just the way it goes some times. You snooze you lose. at those prices I'd look really hard at the lwtc repr and lmt equivalent. Quite frankly the scar isn't worth 5k. No battle rifle will be until it shoots lasers. Literally.

One of the main reason people are buying SCARs is because the military SOF use it. They want the look, and think it will make them look cool, just like how some people want a certain car because it will make them look cool. Accuracy and functionality has nothing to do with it. I think it's stupid to spend that much money just to try to look cool in front of other people, but some folks need the self esteem boost.

I love the M1A but you are crazy if you really think new production M1As are a far better rifle.
