Discrete, but pricey, more than OP wanted to pay but may help others as well.

Engineered for low-profile carry and rapid rifle access, the Vertx Professional Rifle Garment Bag is a professional, covert transit case. It can stow travel essentials and a 28-inch rifle. A quick deployment platform concealed within the padded 1,680 denier ballistic nylon shell allows for ambidextrous weapon access, while preventing printing and damage. The innovative design also features dual butt stock pouches for vertical rifle placement, compression straps to secure items, a pass-through back panel for luggage trolley integration and several interior pockets for clothing, footwear and other mission-critical items. A hook and loop-lined back pocket and dual hook and loop-lined interior panels accommodate tactigami accessories, while the various mesh admin pockets allow for internal gear organization. With a no-slip shoulder strap for easy carry and quick-open Tri-glide zipper design, this is more than a covert carrying case. It is a fully functional tactical rifle transport system.

Vertx’s Large Delivery Rifle Messenger Bag blends everyday carrying comfort and convenience with tactical storage capabilities to present a discreet travel case. Designed to fit two 33-inch rifles, this low-profile bag keeps your firearms secure with a polymer muzzle cup and padded separator. If the need arises, you also can draw your firearm quickly from the right or left side thanks to the ambidextrous design, quick deployment platform and EDC pull. The main zippered compartment contains six pockets for separating critical items and dual interior ammunition pockets that can accommodate up to twelve rifle magazines. Made from 1,680 denier ballistic nylon, this bag is discreet, tough and dependable, making it ideal for covert missions or any situation where blending in is key.

If it's a longer gun, a bass case will probably do. Can probably find a bass case fairly cheap.

Thought as much but I'm still curious.

If you're going to the range with more than one rifle, and want to be discreet, I've found a golf bag travel cover works well.

Search the world's information, including webpages, images, videos and more. Google has many special features to help you find exactly what you're looking for.

You put your gear in their standard containers, put them all inside the golf bag cover, and roll it on out the door.

Unless your neighborhood is safe and 2A friendly, no sense in advertising.

Does anyone know if this case is lockable? If it is lockable, I'm getting it.

I had a gun on me almost all the time when I went to college. Some folks need to cool it with their barney fife crap and mind their own welfare.

Don't get that one, had one and was disappointed. My upper and lower would "print". The padding sucks too.
