They won't be happy until every range is closed in the state. Just up here: Concord, Chabot, Los Altos, Laguna Seca are closed, being closed or under fire, just off the top of my head.

the attack on our rights is on a very broad front.

I'd also like to see the NRA membership card of our heroically poised complaintant. I call BS on that.

Not going to get into the property rights dispute but did everyone watch this video? What kind of mental defective person regardless of the situation goes and STANDS DOWN RANGE of someone who is shooting while hiding in the bushes?

People this stupid should not breed.

I love TS gun club and am also a member. It's a great place that could be better and I have tried to help them do so.

There are a few problems. while shooting long range I have had people drive in front of my LOF who were just joyriding around and not knowing what they are doing. I made sure to track them down and let them know.

I think it's a great place but the current management needs to enforce the booked ranges. Even a check in system would work. They no longer let anyone qualify on the long range that closes down the 100yard and Tac range.

You are only allowed to shoot there if you have qualified, and reserve that range. When I do shoot the longer range that I have reserved. I still drive down to the 100yard and clear the Tac range prior to sending rounds downrange.

Twin Sisters is great! but it could get better and safer if properly managed. They have made some good improvements but proper management is the key here. I hope they are willing to put the time in, and keep it running.

Well, no, because plenty of people (like me) aren't interested is using suppressors at shooting ranges, legal or not. And we sure as hell don't want to be forced to.

So let's not give the idiots any more ideas, okay?

If it's not safe for him to stand any place on his property, it's a problem. If the range can't ensure its safe to to stand anywhere on the adjacent properties it should be shut down.

How long is it going to be open after one of the members shoots one of the neighbors?

Same type of thing going on where I shoot squirrels. Every year or so some bone head puts a bullet through someone's house. One lady told me a group of shooters told her not to walk out to feed her cows because it wasn't safe and she might get shot. Eff that if it's not safe they shouldn't be shooting there.

I'm all for public and private ranges, but it's not the neighbors responsibility to ensure they are safe by not occupying their own property. If it's a noise complaint by someone that moved in next door, that's their mistake, too bad for them.

IMHO which won't be popular, this range is a disgrace. For this to happen, even once is one to many times. If you want to operate a range, fine. But ensure that their is no way that your visitors can fire in a dangerous direction. Lets be realistic about that last sentence, I'm talking berms/barriers and such. Nobody can stop a whack job from shooting in random direction or in the air like a maniac.

If they can't do that bare minimum than it's time for them to close. A man should be able to stand anywhere on his own property without worry of incoming rounds from the commercial business next door. This doesn't sound like this is a new problem. It has the feel of something that has been simmering. Maybe the range just didn't take drastic enough steps quickly enough? For all we really know this guy could be at the end of his rope after repeated complaints. The video speaks volumes.

I can't agree with the "well the neighbors knew where they were moving to" statements for the most part. Yes, they know. That shouldn't negate the range from ensuring safety on their own property.

As far as the neighbors complaining about the noise, they can hang. They knew they were going to hear the gunfire.

If the range gets it's act together it should stay but if they can't guarantee this will never happen again than they need to shut down.

I do agree that the guy is a jackass for standing where he knew rounds would be coming in shortly. Even though it was his property.

reminds of people who buy homes, usually cheaper, near airports, then bit** and complain about the noise

playing devils advocate though, as a home owner i would probably be a bit concerned too, if gunfire was directed at my property, although i probably wouldn't endanger my own life my standing in a spot where i might get picked off, just to video it

"Coming to the nuisance" is no defense. What was acceptable just past suburbia had now been overtaken by sprawl.

Sorry shooter in video is a idiot . He's shooting on top of a berm or hill not knowing what or who is behind his target. Not that he is shooting far he could have easily turned his shot the other direction into the hill behind him . The guy taking the video is a distance away and the bullets are going past him . If the land is flat past where the video taker is standing who knows where these rounds are going . Sorry shoot 100% in the wrong . Ranges fault unknown if this is where they set up a target then it is their fault .

It's a problem if bullets are coming at him, or in his direction. I used to play airsoft milsim at twin sisters when LZ-5 was a thing (don't know if it is anymore). The environment and people were great back then. The noise complaints I could care less about.

Not really, deadly projectiles passing into your property is a trespass not merely a nuisance.

It is still a valid defense for complaints of noise. However bullets landing outside of the range property are trespasses, not just a nuisance.

From the video it didn't look like the shooter was using any kind of backstop.

I read the comments under the article 2 nights ago. It appears a lot of them have been deleted. The anti named Jimbo was a particularly rabid and misinformed nut job.
... The liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:

                                * Satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
