House/Gun Poor

I make a six figure income, but keep my collection modest. Waiting until I'm gone from this ****hole state next year to spend the money on the good stuff.

I have a revolver, semi auto handgun and rifle, a shotgun and a .22. Plus a little ammo for each. I have what I've decided I needed. I only built the rifle because of the state of things and spend two months slowly gathering parts. We live almost paycheck to paycheck. Any extra income we throw into the savings. With my wife's constant health issues and my health issues that flare up we put more into savings a month than food. I'm finally making a good amount above min wage but with the new hourly rate going up it won't be much in a couple of years. Wife and I live small and were about to buy a small house. Sold my 4x4 since I got a work car and we're working on paying off the rest of our debt. I'll add firearms when I can afford it. But that may be a few years.

Grew up around idiots that had huge collections that just got covered in dust. Had to drop hundreds just to put a few rounds through every gun once a year at the range.

I wouldn't be so quick to call all these people idiots. Carefully planned and purchased gun collections can be good investments. I know my large collection is worth much more than what I have paid for it even accounting for inflation. I actually don't really own safe queens but I don't see a need to fire all my guns all the time and would be very hard for me to do so.

If I didn't keep having girlfriends I'd be better off. If I didn't live in Ca I have more guns but Im ok in my apartment with both. Side Note: I don't like living in houses. Hated the upkeep.
