a friend of mine in Jr. High school was stabbed in the stomach with a #2 lead pencil

in fifth grade I was tossing a sharp #2 pencil and spinning it, and I accidentally stuck it into my skin - it made a small graphite tattoo which is still there.

We had safety scissors in kindergarten. By the 2nd grade, the scissors were pointy. Yet, I have no recollection of anyone being stabbed by them. I did get stuck in the face with a flying pointy pencil once. Nearly hit me in the eye!

I got stabbed in the palm with a pencil in 3rd grade by a girl who liked me, she was nuts. Still have the graphite in my hand!

Ban pencils, its literally for the children!

someone with intent could sharpen that dull knife in less than a minute...all you need is a rock, which, incidentally, after you use it to sharpen the knife you could then use the rock to bash in someone's head too
