No, they're the ones that have micro phones that keep audible db levels at a tolerable level so you can still hear range conversation.

Plugs and muffs for me. I need to save what little hearing I have left. None of that fancy electronic stuff, either. Shooting is "me" time--I don't really want to hear conversations at the range.

Picked up some with the Midway USA 20%. But getting mixed info when doing an internet search on these. Some say the NRR is 28 while other sites say NRR 18 or NRR21.
Anyone have the specs? Thanks.

Indoor range, absolutely both, still could be better.

Out door just muffs works very well.

Yup. Indoors. Silicone plugs & cheapo electronic muffs.

Outdoors just the plugs.

Pistol I do unless it is a class.
Rifle the over the ear muffs get in the way.
Hunting I where nothing I want to listen.

Depends where and what is shot. Indoors, always. Outdoors, depends. AR-47, double up. .223 20", foamies outdoors are plenty with a good linear compensator.

AR 7.5" pistol, double up anyplace. My .22 LR AR with the levang, no ear protection outdoors, that is quiet to the shooter.

I started to double up a few years back.

I double up also. I usually get the guy next to me shooting a hand cannon or a 12 gauge.
