Interesting "gun control" proposal

The article, for those smarter than me who refused to read such crap, is just some ignorant **** who has never heard of Heller spouting off about militia this, militia that.

He then takes a breath, and spouts "regulation this, control that" for a while, and mixed in some more "militias".

Of course, nothing is offered to get gun owners to support such additional restrictions. Like all antis, he is self-evidently correct, occupies all moral high ground, islam is not a problem at all, and so disagreeing with him means you're a racist.

Antis keep claiming to want to discuss such things, I haven't seen one try.

Requiring training prior to buying a gun will disproportionately affect citizens of color, senior citizens, the disabled, the poor etc.

One other thing. There is a big difference between a right and a privilege. Requiring training before getting a driver's license is fine as it is a privilege. Requiring training before getting a firearm is NOT fine as that is a right.

Once you go on the slippery slope of treating 2A rights as a privilege then there will be so many regulations that it will be almost impossible to own a firearm. X hours of training, licensing fees, administration fees, insurance requirements, restrictions on where and how to possess the firearm, psychological testing, etc., etc..

The whole country would be like NYC where it is almost impossible to purchase a handgun.

I came across this and went into it assuming the worse but actually didn't think it was that bad. Curious what you guys think.

General idea is there are and will always be too many guns to confiscate so rather than trying to eliminate guns, require mandatory training (described as a state militia reserve of sorts).

On one hand, I take the second amendment as a right without any qualifications required. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind free training myself, and I wouldn't mind knowing the guy on the line next to me has been trained as well.

Thoughts?

im laughing because your post makes me think about the MILLIONS of dollars they have from our DROS fees that keep getting raided to fund other programs, when the fee was supposed to be just enough to cover the cost of running background checks and such on gun purchasers

while im not for this "proposal" of needed training to exercise a right, but, if it ever did happen it should always be free, just use that extra money from the DROS fees that they always seem to have for funding other sh**

I find absolutely nothing interesting at all about your proposal, and, this isn't the first time this type of gun rhetoric has surfaced

the ones who need "training", for lack of a better word, are the people going out and killing other people...maybe they need some psychological training, find out whats going on inside that lunatic brain they have

another thing that every one here already knows is that "proposal" is double speak for "take", because we've never seen one proposal that didn't take away something
