    Help! I done goofed!

So my pops bought a JRC Carbine, and I love the damn thing. It shoots like a dream. HOWEVER, I was taking it apart to clean it, and the AR wrench slipped and gouged the reciever. While my pops wasn't exactly pissed that it happened, I do feel bad. Anything I can do to fix this decently?

I've heard the gun blue stuff doesn't work well or at all on aluminum Bigbear.

I like your first suggestion, it was good enough for us when I was in service.

Well **** happens. It might make us sad but a tool is a tool. Some look nice and some are used to hell. I scratched my XD slide good with my belt buckle. I felt like an idiot but it's my duty gun.

Ah, a pity on the gun blue stuff. I've never used it myself but it seems like a good thing for touch up.

I myself have use Sharpie on my shotgun, I leaned it against a fence and it slipped and fell on the ground, creating a small scratch. So I simply Sharpie it, works well.

Brownells sells Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black. Get a Q-tip and you're in business. It is what I use to touch up work here in the Armory. Just one caution: the stuff is corrosive and toxic. Don't drink it or put the Q-tip in your mouth while you're waiting for the bubbling foam to do its magic.

I totally get it, and if it were my gun, I wouldn't have given it a thought. Since it's someone else's, I feel bad and want to remedy it as best as possible

the ding\scratch just adds character, these things happen to all of us.

I'd at least buy him a case of ammo to make up for you ruining a perfectly good gun
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

That's exactly what he said. He's old school New York, so when I looked at him and said sorry, he went, "PSHHHH! ADDS CHARACTUH! IT'S NOT SUPPOSED TO LOOK BEEYOOTIFUL."
