yea but when its not on sale its $30, its always $19 at walmart, I just grabbed a few boxes on Saterday, there was about 10 boxes left, the only .22lr they had was Rem sub sonics and there was only 1 brick and a few 50rd boxes of that, I bought the last few boxes of stingers they had, the only .223 they had was the Rem UMC 55gr $10 stuff, but there wasnt much, probably gone now.

Put the pipe down and step back sir.
Big 5 has the highest ammo prices to be found other than Sports Authority."people shouldnt be bumping sold stuff. but it is hard to herd cats." - rkt88edmoComment

Local WallyWorlds are SLAMMED right now... im talking empty.
went to 3 tonight for mostly 9mm and some 40... well there were SOME .40 available but NO 9mm of any type and NO .45's..
So the Walmart 250rd UMC 9mm is 48 bucks... i went to Big5 and it was 78 for the same thing... WOW..

It's all hype and BS. There are stores and stores of ammo in surplus and in many private hands. If it existed before, it will exist in the future. As soon as our involvement in Iraq dissolves within the next two years, there will suddenly be gobs of ammo on the open market, surplus and otherwise, from our country and others. Turners will be stocking South African and Australian brass cased/FMJ .223 and .308 at 1/2 the price as it is now. 9mm will be plentiful. And for those stating that values of non-ferrous metals like brass and copper are high and causing current ammo costs to be high - well, yes, and those prices will be dropping like lead very soon as well, following the trend of a down-spiraling market.
Ammo prices will be back down to Bush-first-term levels by June 2009.
.
What, Obama getting elected was just a bad dream? You must have meant Obama first term levels? Prices are driven by simply supply and demand. As the new administration makes guns and ammo harder or impossible to obtain, the prices will continue to appreciate. Hype? BS? NO, simply supply and demand.Comment

i went to the bass pro shop in riverside last week and they didnt have a single box of 9mm at all on thursday and a few 45 acp, they had some other stuff but i didnt pay close attention. plenty of rifle and shotgun ammo though. then i went to walmart by me and they were completely out of 45 and had 2 boxes of 9mm jhp. today i was back at bass pro shop and they have a lot more 45 and some 9mm bulk packs. its getting a lot harder to find handgun ammo but its out there if your checking. when i asked the guy working at bass pro shops he said they are still getting handgun ammo but it is being bought before their next shipment. also they had 250 round bulk packs of umc 223 for $220. they had a lot on thursday and today.Comment
