living in earthquake country this is something I have been thinking about lately.

My first thought would be my 45Colt SAA. Why ? because its my favorite gun and the one I am the most accurate with since its the one I shoot the most.

Second thought would be Beretta 92FS. Why ? because the magazine holds more than 5 rounds (one empty) on the SSA. And the ammo is lighter than the 45 to carry around.

Another thought would be to take my S&W model 66 and let my wife carry the Beretta, while I don't shoot the 66 often, being able to shoot both 38 and 357 would allow me to scrounge for ammo when things got really desperate and I am more likely to find that ammo than I am 45Colt.

For rifles, my wife will carry the 10/22 Takedown and I will take the .308 Ruger scout. .308 ammo being heavy, maybe a .357 lever would be a better choice.

      Obviously, I am undecided....

Of course if we are bugging out with the truck, we are taking everything it can handle the weight of the ammo. Yeah I know I gave 2 guns in each answer...but only one for me and one for my wife to carry

        S&W 1006

Shoots 10mm and 40cal so ammo is not an issue. Built like a tank and I have a complete set of backup parts

            My Tavor.

It's the only rifle I have.
The wife is very accurate with it.
I have a 9mm conversion, so I can shoot multiple calibers

Remington 870. First gun I ever bought, best gun I ever bought.
I want the 24 inch barrel on it. Best of both worlds.

Granddad's Colt 1911A1. Accurate enough for target practice, powerful enough for defense, easy to maintain and find parts for, and it's a family heirloom. If I have no appropriate heir to pass it to, it goes into my pine box with me when the time comes.

I'd keep an AR 15. It would be the most useful in fighting whoever I needed to fight to get my other guns back.
