I need a safe cracker

The combination on my safe won't work! I've tried shifting the numbers up and down when dialing the combination even tried just one number at a time. I've spent a frustrating 8 hours at it. Can anyone recommend a locksmith?? I don't want to have to have it drilled if possible.

Some safes go left to first number, one full spin right and then continue to second number and then left to last number.
Other safes go right to first number, one full spin left and then continue to second number and then right to last number.

I had two safes that were one way and one safe that went the other way.
I always forgot to go the other way with that one safe and finally sold it...

My locksmith told me that you should hit th next to the spinner with a rubber mallet at your last number. Sometimes it will drop the wheels in place. Then try your combo trying one number to the left and then one number to the right for each set of the three numbers. Then he said if you change the combo that process will sometimes work.
All else fails a safe guy can knock off your wheel and then drill it out. That's probably going to cost you $400.

Op any luck with the safe cracking? I have a medium sized American safe I think it is supposed to hold about 46 or 48 rifles but really fits half that...lol

ok, so I had a guy come over last night and try dialing it. He had a fancy listening device, and he tried the mallet thing. No luck. He said he talked to the maker and found out that it has not one but two relockers. This makes it exceedingly risky to attempt to drill it. Apparently the guy that built it can open it but I have had a hard time even reaching him on the phone. I will attempt to contact the maker again today and plead with him for some kind of assistance. They said they move the relockers around on each safe they make so as to make it harder for anyone to "know" how to drill them. The guy that came by last night also referred me to another guy that is local, says he is one of the best. I'll keep this post updated since there seems to be some interest.

He doesn't know what he's doing. It's been over 100 years since dial locks were made in a way that you cannot feel or listen for the correct numbers.

He's feeling the gates and the false gates. The sound thing doesn't work. My brother ( DR lock and safe) manipulates safes and drills them. He is in Visalia CA, about 4 or 4 1/2 hours away from the Bay Area.
If you don't have any luck PM me and I will give you his number. A lot of times he can talk you through the process over the phone. Sometimes people get frustrated and forget the simple stuff.

Had a friend of mine call me a while back , said he couldn't get into his safe
He tried and tried but it would not open

I asked 'Have you changed the battery behind the keypad ' ?
' Oh .... Where's that ?'

I saw that too. The lock was modified to make that possible. Watch the video posted a couple posts up and you'll see.

I have a guy coming next week. He is quite confident that he can open it either by dialing or drilling. If he has to drill, the repair should be seamless. He also plans to replace my lock with a superior S&G. I have a LaGuard now. And he's also a lot more affordable than the previous quotes that I've gotten.
