    Does Clint hold gun right?

Can anyone comment how he holds his gun?

Haven't taken my formal training yet till I can budget for a class. However, after watching over past month a few dozen expert videos on Ytube I find none agrees with this posture. Specifically, looks to me like his finger joint on the trigger - and not using (as videos say) the middle of the finger tip. And his thumb curled down - not (as videos say) straight under barrel.

If you all find Clint just right, then maybe I should stop watching those videos.

How do I get the photo to show in the text, and not as something to click?

It's Hollywood. Fantasy not real life.

        Sorry, it's a trade secret.

What were the thoughts on how to pull a trigger in 1971?

Thumb straight under the barrel is, IMO, a better grip for semi auto pistols. The thumb curls downward on a revolver will prevent your thumb from getting jammed again the protrusion behind the cylinder.

That was pretty much the style back then, as was the "grab the wrist"style for 2-handed shooting that he used in other scenes.

Glad I asked! Your answers put my mind at rest.

I think I got it now. Not wrong way he holds, just a different gun (really big), and a different time.

TV/ Film is a fun medium...

If you get a good cheek weld, then the actor looks funny as their cheek is squeezed up... so they shoot rifles without a check weld....

what looks good on film is rarely what works on the range

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                    (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

You need to upload your pictures to a hosting service and then you can post to your listing so that they show without the click

That's a correct hold for shooting scumbags.
When you're at the range; then you have time for thumbs forward, and finger-pad target shooting.
