Would it help if we organized a sit in and sang Kumbaya?

I hope things work out. It's a great range, and nice people every time I've been there. I was just there on Sat. Hope to be going there again soon. Was having issues sighting in my Beretta CX4, and need to go back.

Will this be a Costco to Wal-mart change? Time will tell...

I've been a member of this range for a 3+ years now, and was just getting ready to renew my membership this week! Good thing I read the CG forum!

I'll wait and watch...and I'll be hopeful, as it is one of the finest ranges I've been to in So Cal.

IMO, regarding the staff, I have pretty much always thought they were good people, friendly and knowledgeable (we miss you, Les! Doug is a hoot! Carson is a good guy!).

Over the last 2 years, I've witnessed the dynamics of the changes in management. Family (they claimed to be family of owners) employees being a little offensive to customers in my opinion, overriding the staff. Changing policies on a customer-by-customer basis...tense behavior by management just sends a negative vibe through the place...

However, it was (is??) still one of the better ranges around and I would be very unhappy if it did not re-open and welcome their loyal customers back!
I hope they take this time to review their customer policies and get re-focused.

Was it open today? Any signs or official word from FT3?

Never been there but heard it was nice with modern equipment.
As a former business owner it seems the business was sold, probably for a good profit and the new owner is bringing in their own crew rather than keeping the existing employees.
That creates a lot of anger from the outgoing employees.
Sometimes it's best to close down for a day or two to learn about the facility and the membership, then make a good fresh start.
I can't imagine a modern range with so many customers shutting down, so I hope it reopens with good customer service, safety and all the things the members liked.
I belong to one of the lesser ranges mentioned by the OP and they are extremely busy.
Even at the slow times I sometimes have to wait for a firing line.
There are many new shooters, many female, and shutting down a premiere range makes no sense in such a growing market.

I always had good experiences there. Good folks, and they always had a safety officer in each bay. I stopped going to the range in South County because there were no safety folks in the bay's, and was tired of being swept on a regular basis. And the owner's idiot brother was walking around angry and strapped. Not good.

I assume FT3 will reopen. I hope they maintain the same standards.

And, thanks to all the employees who leave/left.

Best equipped indoor range in OC is closing? No way. Change of ownership, staff vs. owner conflict, etc. It's not that I was a frequent guest there, but still...

For an indoor range, I love FT3. I make the trek from Rancho Cucamonga a few times a month and have always been treated professionally there. Not to mention, best circulation system ever. Going to miss this place...pending on how new management runs things. I guess I'm stuck shooting outdoors until then at Rahaagues or Angeles.

                            *UPDATE*

Ok, so I know I wasn't the first, but I was going to dinner in the area (Zankou chicken, if you haven't been, go now!) and decided to stop by. I saw one of the employees that I recognized in the parking lot and flagged him down to chat for a quick minute. I was told that they are in fact reopening tomorrow under new management and that MY MEMBERSHIP IS STILL VALID. He wouldn't share any specifics but seemed optimistic when he said he was looking forward to what the future brings. Not sure what the story is with previous vs new management but I'm hoping it all goes smoothly and wish them the best. I've always had good experiences there and hope I will continue to (especially because i just renewed my membership). I'm going to go on Friday and check it out for myself. I'm definitely breathing a sigh of relief for tonight though.

My wife and I have been members there for years. I shoot there a lot, buy a lot of ammo, and bring a lot of people to FT3. I know that the owner being forced out had a lot of family and friends working there. That was one of the reasons I loved FT3. They always provided a safe, regulated, fun environment to shoot in.

My wife got the news today directly from someone affected by the situation; it does not sound good. I guess I will wait to see if the owner/staff regain control from the 'investor' before going back.

But the majority of our customers; the people we would see regularly and got to know over the years really loved us. We loved them too. Yesterday, we had quite a few people stop by just to say goodbye.

It's a range with tons of liability and regulations. We do as we're told so that the business is profitable and the customers are safe and happy. Pricing!? I don't get how a few people think we are so overpriced.... $13.99/50rd of 9? Have you seen what other ranges charge!? Yes it's loaded to factory spec and it is actually used by some competition teams. Can we openly disclose who? No. I wish I could! That would only help us!! We also manufactured ammo for some of the factory new brands that you think is so superior to FT3 btw.

Assume things and talk down about us all you want, but most of us did what we could to make customers happy. We've had loaded guns pointed at us with fingers on trigger, we've dealt with NDs, people throwing hissy fits at us because they decided to walk in the door with an uncased shotgun and wondered why we were on edge!! We're not perfect and we make mistakes, but can all of your negative experiences really be 100% our fault??

I was a patron since the 2nd month they opened, then a Platinum Member and then an employee. I loved that place and want to say thank you to those who have our back and have shown us so much love. It really means a lot to us. <3
So did you ever take that 1911 apart with the idiot scratch tool I gave you?
