I've only been to four indoor ranges, but, FT3 was by far the best. Modern, clean, great air filtration/temps, automated target placement by keying in distance, etc. The desk staff not so friendly, but, generally efficient. Really liked the range officers. They were always on the range, friendy, talked to you about guns, and actually paid attention to what was going on. The only reason I stopped going there was their "TWO seconds between shots" rule. Once I got beyond "pure noob" stage with a pistol, that rule got old real fast. Couldn't even work on more advanced NRA timed pistol qualification stages with that restriction.

Hope they work this out and don't screw up a good range by hiring bad staff. If they change anything, I hope they go to ONE second like everyone else.

Probably this guy... Riverside Police Chief Russel Leach...He is disgraced, unemployed and was in the IE.

The OP sounds like a disgruntled employee especially with his stated disdain for staff at competing ranges. I shot at FT twice. it was a very nice facility, very polite and professional staff but I saw as many unsafe handling events there as I do at any other public range.

As for other ranges not offering the option of shooting rifle (M4), Firing Line in HB isn't even a full 25 yrds and probably does not have the upgraded backstop needed. I don't know who the Fullerton range is but probably more of the same.

I have shot there several times and always thought it was a first class place. Never had an issue. Hopefully, the place will reopen.

As a business owner, I know that sometimes you have to fire people and hire new employees. People don't always work out. It sucks, but it is what it is.

The range always seem busy, so it looks like it is a business that is profitable. And like every business, the employee's are a very important part of the success.

The same greed that would never fetch me a respectable wage as a mechanic.

Capitolism is great if the people in control aren't total money-grubbing monsters.

I loved this range but can't support firing good people just cause owner wants more money for himself.

          Weak, humanity. Weak.
So will you put your money where your mouth is and stop shooting here? Business decisions can be rough. Sink or swim. Your competitors will eat you alive if given the chance. Actually from my couple of interactions with the help at this range I was not impressed.

As for the Fullerton range the OP mentions I am thinking he means the range in Brea.

-Shooters will not have access to the best indoor range in OC
-Members might be screwed out of their benefits (I know people who just spent $375 renewing a few weeks ago)
-Nobody knows how the range will operate once it reopens

The drama aside, losing the best indoor range in the area is not a good thing for us.
Well don't come CRAWLING back to the South OC guys over at On Target whom you abandoned.....

I HIGHLY doubt that was an ex-employee. It doesn't seem like anyone I know. I do think it is a customer. Yeah, some of you hate us, I get it. But the majority of our customers; the people we would see regularly and got to know over the years really loved us. We loved them too. Yesterday, we had quite a few people stop by just to say goodbye.

It's a range with tons of liability and regulations. We do as we're told so that the business is profitable and the customers are safe and happy. Pricing!? I don't get how a few people think we are so overpriced.... $13.99/50rd of 9? Have you seen what other ranges charge!? Yes it's loaded to factory spec and it is actually used by some competition teams. Can we openly disclose who? No. I wish I could! That would only help us!! We also manufactured ammo for some of the factory new brands that you think is so superior to FT3 btw.

Assume things and talk down about us all you want, but most of us did what we could to make customers happy. We've had loaded guns pointed at us with fingers on trigger, we've dealt with NDs, people throwing hissy fits at us because they decided to walk in the door with an uncased shotgun and wondered why we were on edge!! We're not perfect and we make mistakes, but can all of your negative experiences really be 100% our fault??

I was a patron since the 2nd month they opened, then a Platinum Member and then an employee. I loved that place and want to say thank you to those who have our back and have shown us so much love. It really means a lot to us. <3

Thanks for some real insight (as opposed to the OP).

Is the news of mass layoffs true and are you still employed?

                  .

Not calling out CalGunners, I am one too you know! And we loved having the monthly shoot. Met a ton of great people through that as a CG Shooter and as an RSO!

Guess I'm just venting because people always point out the negative and assume we are all dumbasses who hate life and make minimum to be range nazis. Since I'm not employed there anymore, I can say **** like that now!

The story is developing. Currently I am technically employed... I will post details in a day or so? There's a LOT going on right now....
