I was at the gun show yesterday and they had a deal for $250 for a lifetime membership. It seemed like a great deal, especially since they had the $15,000 regular price crossed out. He said the only other fee is the background check for the years you go. Is there any other catch other than their ammo requirements?

No real catch. Sounds like the deal is pretty fairly presented. You have to pay transportation, lodging, food, and ammo but he training is provided at no cost. Other fees that might apply is things like gun and equipment rentals.
You can find better deals than that out there. Was it a Diamond membership? -
Front sight is the cult run school right? Lol

This is pretty funny. I attended FS two years ago and took a 4-day Defensive Handgun course. I was rather impressed by training but no so impressed by their marketing shpiel and their membership system. But more on that later. I didn't really consider going back, but there is a 4-Day rifle...

Many learn that "free training" is not free. HopetonBrown is spot on as far as some great local classes for many in California. Ignoring membership fees and annual background check fee, from the Bay Area it probably runs you $200 in gas and $350 in lodging for a four-day class. You can pick up some nice classes for $550. Of course if you go down with two or three other people and can split expenses, the economics change quickly.Originally posted by HopetonBrown$250 lifetime membership. $50 background check. Depending on where you live, could be one long *** drive. 5 days of food and lodging. If you live anywhere near Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco or Sacramento, there's many classes given by top level national trainers. If you'd like some recommendations feel free to PM me. Your PM box is probably already being filled by the Front Sight Ambassador tactical Amway salesmen.
HopetonBrown, I think many of us would be interested in your suggestions, especially if you have trained with them yourself.Last edited by AAShooter; 01-10-2016, 1:25 PM.Comment

The membership structure and marketing tactics are way too goofy for me.
Perhaps next year the $250 membership will be $25.Comment
