Dang boy. Are you just a stubborn mule or totally clueless about business and goodwill? I am guessing you're dead broke. Can't pay the Internet bill for your website, can't muster up "Chump Change" (yeah, $400 bucks is chump change)

I can understand a cash flow problem; working in a crappy industry like gun smithing, probably barely make the rent and live week to week depending on customers.

But what bothers me (and others) is your lack of Integrity. Making the OP actually sue you in Small Claims and when you refuse to make him whole. A man that makes a mistake should OWN iT. You say, yes, I made a mistake and I want to make it right.

You've wasted the OPs time. You must be completely Narcassistic to avoid responsibility and waste time over a problem that you caused.

A smart man who made an honest mistake wouldnt have let this problem continue.

Yes, and instead of offering to have the barrel replaced by someone qualified to do it (it is not easy) - he then tried to buy the pistol from the OP at a lowball price.

I think the most amazing thing about this exercise is that any businessman would trade bad will and 32000 people looking at a conversations about bad service rather than just doing what so many sensible folks have advised. "Make the customer whole" Jeopardizing your means to make a living just because you don't want to fix what you messed up... It takes all kinds to make the world , this one kind is new to me. Don't get too excited about winning and getting a good judgement. Your odds of collecting the judgement are probably pretty close to zero.

I just can't believe that people (adults) here on CG can be so judgmental on something that they don't truly know the facts of this issue. I don't. I was not the fly on the wall. I have been watching this BS on here every once in a while. Should CalGun members share shame on a member? You have the right to do so. Why not talk about how perfect we are...wait a minute, we're not. I do not know either person on this issue. I'm just disappointed that a bunch of you guys making such immature comments here. Perhaps it would be a good idea that all of this and the other thread pertaining to this same subject be erased. This is all so ridiculous.

Curious what the court decision will be.

Assuming the defendant loses and does not pay. That is where the real fun begins for the plaintiff.

Lien on the house if he owns it.

Tap his bank account assuming the plaintiff can find it.

Having the Sheriff seize and sell his vehicle.

Remember costs of collection get added to the judgment.

Plaintiff can't collect? Then he can go into revenge/punishment mode.

Did the defendant charge sales tax and forward it to the State or not charge sales tax? Only costs a phone call to the Franchise Tax Board to file a complaint.

No business license. A call to the City Attorney and the Business License office.

Government Agencies can hammer friend or foe alike. Use their power.

File an order of appearance of the judgement debtor. Force him back to court to list his assets. (Everybody lies.) but if he doesn't show the judgment creditor can get a warrant issued.

Lots of fun in collecting if you treat it as a sport and don't get emotionally involved.

As long as this thread adds to the repository of knowledge out there, people can choose to do what they want with that knowledge. I for one like to know when something like this goes down - life is too short to do business with people that cause difficulty and drama. If this can help to save me from aggravation, it's valuable.
