With the current prices on AR-15 now a days, I wouldn't doubt that was an inside job.

sorry, but this kind of crap really pisses me off. the kind of spin doctoring that makes a weapon that the police have ok, and not really dangerous. but in civilian hands it's tool that requires someone to violate my 2a rights, and disarm me. i would rather tongue-kiss nancy pelosi than hear this kind of crap...
no actually that might turn me gay.
        nevermind.

But anyways, I think anyone who's got the balls to break into a CHP cruise and steal their guns and get away with it deserves it.

Perhaps the perp will see the error in his ways and turn the guns in at one of the many "Get guns out of the Homes" police buy back programs.
My personal belief is that someone from ' Brady ' stole them to get these types of weapons off the streets.
This is absolute proof that we need more gun control laws.

i saw the story on the kron 4 news. the chp officer that was interviewed said that he did not know why someone would steal it (criminals duh!) because they can be legally bought. does the chp know about OLLs?

Yeah, somewhere near the 101 and 405. The problem is that they keep getting knocked down with all the wrecks

Screw this state so hard. The rifle that was stolen could not be legally purchased in this state, unless it had a mmg on it (or 10 round mags and a bb, for some reason I doubt either of those things is true ). Saying otherwise is a big fat lie.

I think they had a BB memo passed to their officers if I'm not mistaken.

The rifle was in a locked police vehicle inside of a locked parking lot. It was further secured by a lock to the car itself. How much more secure can they make the rifle? Things get stolen and this just shows how motivated crimminals are to obtain firearms.

I can just envision all of the suggestions given here. Empty out an entire patrol car everytime you need to use the head; because nothing gets stolen inside of a police station either.

Wanna bet that CHP lower is one taken from a law abiding citizen like black water ops or someone else?

                                I'll take that bet.

This isn't the 70's or earlier whern officers got to keep their catch.
