Where I think your going off track is in believing that the President or lawmakers actions would amount to nothing more than delaying the purchase of your AR for 30 days.

    " common sense restrictions".........

Shooting like this may be deterred/lessened if this state issued more CCWs. I'm not sure how this affect SHTF prepping since stacking ammo/hardware should not be on top of the list. The reason the prices went through the roof last time was because of hoarding.

Sure people worry about violence and war, but suggesting that San Bernardino or Paris is SHTF is kind of humorous.

OTOH, I guess it depends on one's definition of SHTF. I personally don't consider these shootings to be SHTF, so we seem to have a difference of opinion on that if you do (it appears so).

I would think along those lines also BUT really, what if Conceal Firearms or any Weapons were not allowed in this building complex?

My kid and her husband went through an active shooter at Kirkland AFB and at the VA in ABQ yesterday and were both on lockdown shelter in place status. Proved to be false but took awhile to clear the situation. My kid said they went to the Pharmacy cuz it has locking doors and bullet proof glass.

I was 50 feet away from an active shooter (attempted mercy killing) in our medical facility. Luckily the shooters gun jammed after the first shot hit his wife and he was subdued.

The "No Weapons Permitted" signs on the facility doors meant nothing to him.

            I apologize.

I should have been more descriptive in my explanation.

When I say SHTF, I meant in a political sense. Not an economical or civil/societal meaning. You have clowns like Debbie Wasserman claiming work place violence among dozens of other political douche bags claiming scenarios that are entirely different and a joke at best.

I just feel as if this time, the jerkoffs in Washington are going to start pushing through with some real heavy mandates like federal restrictions because politicians will see this as an opportunity to say "see, its failing at the state level, so we need to go federal"

and then the ball just keeps rolling. Catch my drift? Just trying to strike up some conversation

Obviously. But if I was at the epicenter of either of those scenarios, you better believe I'm considering it 'S hitting the F'

**** hitting the fan is a little late for me. I begin to worry when it's touching cotton.

So speaking in that regard, the best way to get ready for such an attack is to have a handgun on you, since it's unlikely to have a rifle on you in that scenario.

Avoid those places if possible. With The Colorado movie theater shooting the shooter picked that specific location because of their policy of no ccws allowed. Soft targets will not be so prevalent in a CCW state vs a anti CCW state such as CA. Listening to the idiotic experts on the radio they wanted to set as side funding to train people to react to such an event by running away or charging the shooters instead of having people have the option to defend themselves by issuing CCW to law abiding citizens. Also Barbra Boxer came out saying how they should reinstate the Assualt weapons band since these types of weapons have no useful purpose except to kill people, which is very easy to say since she has 24 hour armed security. I guess she doesn't see the true second amendment right and all those who compete with those types of rifles. Why ban alcohol to .0001% or cars that have the ability to go faster than 70 mph. All of which cause more death and devastation vs firearms by leaps and bounds.
