Let me know how that works out for you, please ?
You see, the state of communistfornia has been taken over by liberal f---ing idiots and run over by Illiterate peasants. they want everything free, the govmint to take care of them.
The dumbocraps want total control and promise all of the govmint support in exchange for votes and control.
Some people just refuse to face reality. Sad really....

If you have a need to go full auto w/can then go to Nevada and satiate your appetite for it.
Lots of FA ranges will happily take your money.

Erosion of your constitutional rights is part of the price you pay to live here.
IMO the reasons people that don't leave is that they have property/business here, family here or a job that pays more than it's worth and they can't walk away from it because of accumulated debt or some combination of the three.

We have one party rule here and it isn't going away any time soon.

The 2A rights of Texans, Arizonans, and many other states are protected by the people of those places, not by the federal government. You see, if stupid laws aren't written in the first place, then there is nothing for the courts to interpret, uphold, or deny.

Further, if tomorrow morning, the only gun laws people in CA had to follow were the federal laws, the celebration would last for weeks.

The large part of the blame is the People. Us. At the end of the day, we get the government that we vote for. In case you don't realize, California is a Mecca for leftist commie Democrats. We are a haven and destination point for the LBGT masses. We are a Sanctuary state, cutting in more illegal Mexicans than any other state. Sure, I vote conservative in every election, but the die is already cast. Do you really think we can be a Red State ever again?

Hell, even in Calguns, you have threads asking who to vote for, Gavin Newsome or Antonio Villaraigosa . That is a prime example of the mentality here, only in California. Ripon83's post above says it perfectly.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

The thing of it is, I'm 61 years old. I fought the fight for the last 40 plus years and unless something drastic happens California is going to get worse and not better. Sometimes you just get a run of bad hands and you have to throw your cards down on the table and leave. Buying a place in Arizona re-set the clock for me, I'm not going to live long enough to see California return to the beautiful state I use to live in. I didn't quit, my state quit on me.

Yep, but you guys in Free America should not act or think all is well in the US just because "you've got yours". The same SCOTUS and fed cts that are refusing to give the "last holdouts" Shall Issue/RKBA, are the same ones your Texas courts have to bow down before (Obamacare, etc.). The same fed gov't that is not enforcing our immigration laws, is the same gov't who's courts gutted AZ's attempt to stop the hoards from invading their state (and will do that to TX if you guys even think of trying it). If Hillary wins and managed to ban cans and SBRs at the fed level (NRA help us!), SCOTUS could uphold that ban and you guys in TX would be ----ed once again, just like you were back during the fed AWB.

Until TX secedes from the US, what happens in D.C. doesn't stay in D.C. ....

                        SCOTUS still matters.

it's not really a mentality, it's more of a "here's what we're stuck with" issue here in California...i put up the Newsome v Villaraigosa thread, mostly as a "what better choices do with have" kind of thread...im sure nobody here likes the choices we have, when it comes down to the lesser of two evils for us, we're walking the plank either way

we're out voted, there isn't even a hint of a (R) who can be a viable challenge in the Governor's race...seems like the ONLY choice left would be voting for a person who may have a chance to beat the person who represents the biggest threat to gun owners

you're right, it's a Mecca of Democrats in this state...that leaves us with "lesser of two evils" no matter how you slice it...until we get some (R) candidates who are capable of winning elections, why waste your vote when it can still be used against the main threat against our rights, even if it's another (D)...its a sh***y situation to be in, but, it's better than wasting a vote on a non starter, just for the sake of saying you didn't vote a certain way

at this point, our only chance of even feeling like a Red State will only come through the courts, decisions that side with the 2A...decisions that allow us the same rights as Red States, even if we're not

what you might consider a mentality others might consider damage control, maybe even a strategy to minimize the threat

it's bleek anyway you look at it, i can't see any candidate who takes a favorable side to the 2A going very far, too many people in California are ok with losing their rights

                              The balance is gone

There would usually be some natural balance that would follow a two term Democratic Governor: a Republican governor.

Then we could lick our wounds, reorganize, and try and gain a little ground back. Or at the very least not be attacked for a few years.

If we have 20 years of ever more left leaning Democratic Governance, then we are voting away the very balance of the system that was designed into it in the first place. Why even have elections anymore?

Ha, a Republican Governor in California means nothing. You need the Senate and Assembly more. And to get that you need the votes....not gonna happen in this craptastic state. The Bradys run the DOJ and the Eloi love the California government.
