Remember when Calguns was cordial

I must admit I get crotchety at times, more so as of late, but remember when CG's was a brotherhood ~ not a tough guy sounding board, my junk is bigger than your junk, what's my crap worth marketplace. I've said it before, I long for the old days & (some of) the members we once had. Color me nostalgic, but I would dig a more cordial CG's.

It's actually a lot more cordial here than on some of the other forums I frequent. At least here, you don't see too many times where someone asks a legitimate question and immediately gets the response "why are you asking that - it's been asked before, don't be a lazy idiot, use the search button."

I do see a few people on this forum that generally have a bad attitude toward anything they respond to. I just laugh at them - they clearly have some personality issues that have nothing to do with anyone but themselves.

Only been around a few years and still feel like a newb.
I think the 10% rule applies here.
I don't frequent other forums so I can't compare but I like the ground rules here and it seems the mods smack down o meter is pretty effective.

Almost all good size forums get like that. Some people are bored and nthing better to do than start trouble and spend the night watching responses.

Parts of sub forums are still pretty mellow and not a lot of rudeness.

Sadly I know not of this 100% cordial CG's. I may have participated if a few of these less than stellar threads, in particular "Political" and have not much good to say for them, of this I can't seem to help myself, as their is endless ammunition for this.

But there are some here who in their infinite wisdom (education) feel the need to be self proclaimed grammar police, but seem to pick and chose who needs this verbal abuse, this would seem only a small part of what OP is stating.

Would it ever be the way OP say it was ?

One thing is for certain things change, & unfortunately, not always for the better, but you just never know.

That said I do appreciate CGN and there are still many, many, really fine people here, more than the other.

I'm kinda new here too.. The 90% rule is probably about right... But 90% here is a hell of a lot better than the 10% of the general population ,,, I would hang out with... So i'm pretty happy here... I am waiting for the ban hammer to swing on another thread though... A total DB should be going down,, and I'm timing it... Cheers...
