Most Obscure Caliber?

I think you mean the 9mm shotshell I think it comes in rimfire and centerfire versions. Unless there is an 8mm version I'm unaware of. Winchester made the model 36 I occasionally run across them. I have a Remington chambered for 22lr shotshells with a smooth bore.

A lot of the cartridges they have brought out in the last two or three decades are going to be soon obsolete. They really went overboard with new designs that didn't really do anything the older cartridges didn't already do.

Yes, that one did cross my mind. The weird thing is that I really like that cartridge and I shoot a 32-20 Contender. It is hard to pick the winners and losers. Some cartridges start off with a whimper and go down hill from there. Easy predicting those and then some others find their way over time. The new batch of short magnums are very suspect with everybody making their own versions, I'm not sure if any of them are popular enough to stay in production. Then there is my all time favorite that went absolutely nowhere...the HM MACHII or HM2. It was such a cool little dude, everyone was going to make guns for it and one by one the manufacturers gave up on it.

The super short magnums are dying out if you have such a gun acquire the brass and ammo ASAP. 17hm2 getting hard and when a rimfire dies out you are super screwed. Also with another ammo panic brewing don't expect the manufacturers to make runs of obscure ammo when they can sell all the 9x19 and 5.56x45 they can crank out.

I wonder about the .475 and .500 Linebaugh. With the .480 Ruger and .500 S&W so popular, and the Linebough guns costing twice as much for not much gain.

S&W 32-44. From what I understand it was only chambered for the S&W New Model No 3 Target, which I happen to have.

Not really obscure but the 25-20 is hard as he'll to find ammo. And when you can It ain't cheap.

So how do these shoot? Curious system.

It's a combination between a spring loaded air rifle, and a single shot .22 rifle. The spring in the rifle when released by the trigger causes the air in the chamber to compress at a very rapid rate, which acts like a Diesel engine, and ignites the propellant attached to the bullet....

It works, but... not really very much fun to shoot.
