Was he shooting random people? NO, so right there they knew he wasn't some nut. Had there been some nut in there shooting the place up while he was buying shoes however I bet people would be happy that he was packing.Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace. -- James Madison

Wow, I get back from a concert and TWO whole pages have been added to this thread! HAHA.
I would like to thank those that have given me words of encouragement, they are much appreciated and truly keep me going, particularly Theseus, Arkalius, CitaDel, sorenson440, JDay, PzKfW, CSACannoneer, CSDGuy and others. Thank you also for your wit and knowledge in these matters, as sometimes I have a hard time responding in an effective manner.
Now, onto responding to people.
Vin496... Yes, maybe the authorities will try to tighten CCW or ban open carry but the Heller decision incorporated via the 14th and Nordyke will make everything just hunkey dunkey, according to the many great minds here on calguns.net. In addition and like what has been mentioned before by myself and others, lurking in the shadows of society for exercising your Constitutional right is no way to live. I say be proactive, not reactive. If the kommies are so hell-bent on taking away our rights, you might as well go down fighting the best way you can instead of sitting at home, seething through a monitor and proclaiming your discontent over binary.
That said... if you already don't or choose not to exercise your gun rights, why are you so concerned about losing them? Remember the opencarry.org quote... A RIGHT UNEXERCISED IS A RIGHT LOST!
45David1... I said that if the mall didn't want certain OBJECTS, not ACTIVITIES in the mall then the mall should post a sign about it. Last I checked the mall wasn't attempting to prohibit genitalia, though the laws already on the books prohibit genitalia-related activities in public.
For whomever said I was guilty... I made no such admission of guilt, for I have nothing to be guilty about. I followed the law and acted like an OC ambassador should. The guards are the ones that have to worry about being scrutinized, for they have undeniably broken the law.Comment

Good. Let them outlaw open carry with some new knee jerk law. That would work well here in post Heller California, with 'CCW' impossible to obtain in many counties, it would be an outright ban on possessing and carrying firearms.
On the local level, ordinances prohibiting carry would violate preemption.
On the state level laws prohibiting carry would violate the individual right reaffirmed in Heller.
In my opinion, the anti-gunners must be forced to play the only cards they have... UOC at present is the means to entice the legislature to act without thinking and for us educate an ingnorant populace.

Sometimes the law defends plunder and participates in it. Sometimes the law places the whole apparatus of judges, police, prisons and gendarmes at the service of the plunderers, and treats the victim -- when he defends himself -- as a criminal. Bastiat

See I told you, your a UOC Hero!
This is of course possible, but how long will it take to make it happen? Many of the great minds here have hinted that these things were happening very soon we would see. Remember all the talk after the Heller decision? If you just read this board, there was also tons of talk about how Obama would never be elected, things will always be given a hunky dory outlook here, as it is a Pro 2A board, which is expected, but the reality is that we live in a very gun unfriendly State with a very anti gun President Elect coming into office soon(with an even worst Cabinet). So while things may get better at some point in the distant future, in the near future, they will probably get worst for us gun owners.Vin496... As for not exercising my rights to UOC, well there are 2 reasons for that.
1- I have no desire to walk around with an unloaded weapon on my hip.
2- And this is the big One!!
I live in L.A. and work in the South Central Area. The last thing I need is to be fronting with an unloaded weapon in that area. Not to mention the Police here, probably aren't going to be so nice about it if they get a call of man with a gun.
I'll take one for the team, but I'm not taking 50 Bullets for the team!
I want you to know, I'm not bashing you or saying you shouldn't OC, like you stated it's your Constitutional Right to do so, I am just of the belief that UOC is just not that productive as an educational tool for the public and much less so for self defense.Last edited by Vin496; 12-12-2008, 6:17 AM.I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

My God, reading all this...
It's sad. Some of you clowns have zero aptitude for rational thought.
"UOC is legal. We are afraid of losing our rights. Don't UOC, they'll make it illegal.= I'm denying myself the right."
What the deuce?
At the end of the day, you either want to have the means to defend yourself and others when the **** goes down, or you don't. Go to a mall unarmed and be there when some nutcase finds this latest "gun free zone," drives his car through the doors and starts shooting the place up. Then yell at him, "Hey! I have the right to keep and bear arms! But I'm not exercising the right because I'm afraid if I do, the legislators will take the right away! So as long as I don't have the right, I have the right! YAY!!! Now please oblige me and drop dead, as if I actually had enough sack to carry and shoot your sorry ***!"
Whoops! You didn't even have time to get all that out before the KA-freaking-BOOM and now you're dead, with your silly, unexercised right to KBA perfectly intact.
You don't have a right, or you don't exercise a right. In the real world, at Luby's Cafe or the San Ysidro McDonalds (which I remember well) what the F***K is the difference? Please, someone educate me.
I can't take much more of these gutless turds crouched behind computer monitors, clutching their precious few CCW permits, slinging stones at pullnshoot25 for doing what all of you know in your hearts you ought to.
Hoping things will get better on their own worked really really well for the Jews, right up until the Zyklon-B started spraying from the shower heads.
Quit trying to knock a good man down.what is this, Russia?

I am an American Patriot similar to that of Thomas Jefferson. He was a great American, an incredable president, and one hell of a patriot. However by today's standards, he'd be seen as a right-wing gun-toting anti-government nut-job even on this website.Wow.
I know this is a board for fellow gun nuts, but wow. Tim McVeigh isn't a terrorist in your opinion. He was just some guy who "past his breaking point" and decided to bomb a federal building. Because it was Federal, it wasn't terrorism. Never mind that he also killed a bunch of kids in daycare.
Just wow. Am I really associated with you people?
What Tim did was a direct reaction to the vast tyranical actions and government abuses that happend in Waco. He and his movement lost support because he "killed a bunch of kids in daycare".
An over-simplified explanation is that Terrorists attack civilian targets. Solely targeting military or government targets is not the actions of a terrorist.I thought I would be a nice guy and give you a definition on why I consider McVeigh a "homegrown terrorist".
HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.
Then again it depends who's making the definitions. John Kerry supported and voted for a bill that would label any person in possesion of over 1,000 rounds of ammo a Terrorist, thus making them immediately arrestable and unable to have a U.S. trial, thus resulting in an endless imprisonment.
Do you have over 1,000 rounds of ammo? If so, John Kerry, the former Democrat Presidential hopefull labels you as a terrorist too!Originally posted by nickAre there any times when you don't have a loaded firearm within reach?Originally posted by M. SageI support violence against communists.Comment

McVeigh murdered innocent people. There's no "patriotism" in that. What happened in Waco was a debacle, but it was not a license for him to go off as some kind of self-styled "patriot" and murder innocents by the cowardly act of a truck bombing. He had many other ways to fight against his perception of tyranny without doing what he did. Around here, we make changes in our government at the ballot box, not with Ryder trucks packed full of fertilizer.sigpic

Oh, stop it. I understand if you don't condone what McVeigh did. I'm not saying I condone it either. I understand his actions, assuming it wasn't some false flag event. But to say "We make changes at the ballot box" in the face of the past debacle between CFR Big Government anti-gun liberal pro-fiat-currency immigration amnesty "change washington" Anti-Constitution McCain and CFR Big Government anti-gun liberal pro-fiat-currency immigration amnesty "change washington" Anti-Constitution Obama is just stupid.what is this, Russia?

Okay, so how does one become a rebel in his country now that we have classified all force against a government as terrorism?I thought I would be a nice guy and give you a definition on why I consider McVeigh a "homegrown terrorist".

How can one be a revolutionary?
So, our founders, were not revolutionaries, they were terrorists. Nice.
They are trying to broaden the words usage to mean exactly where you're going with it. Which is not what it really is.
Terrorists insight terror amongst the population and government. Key point is they intentionally shoot at or blow up civilians and govt to use the terror of the event as their form of coercion.
Rebels, fight their government and ultimately lose. If they kill civilians it generally isn't intentional, they usually seek civilian support and are out to overthrow the government because its tyrannical. How well this line is followed depends on where your at.
Revolutionaries are rebels that win the war against their government.
Also how does one become a guerrilla fighter, under the above definition?
The only thing that is possible is terrorist.
Once again, I will re-iterate, I am not supporting what McVeigh did. His actions were monstrous. But he was not a terrorist.Last edited by aileron; 12-12-2008, 12:21 PM.Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction...
