Still took forever... And they acted like lil itches when i DID question it...wtf they need am that info for? I was bothered

I swear some of you guys are just paranoid over scanning the stripe on the DL.

What do you guys think is on it other than what's already on the front of it? One of the ranges in my area does that, you fill out the waiver and they enter your info. Next time you show up they swipe your DL hand you a target and tell you your lane, takes maybe 10 seconds. The other local range, doesn't matter how many times you've been there, you still need to fill out the stupid form every time with all of your info on it anyway.

Now for a place like Target that really only needs your DOB for something, yeah it's dumb for them to swipe it(they really don't even need your actual DOB, they just need to enter something that shows you're above 18, 21, or whatever).

Unfortunately not all of us can go shoot on BLM without 6+ hours worth of driving, which kinda kills the "hey, I'm gonna go shooting after work" or even on the weekends, most of your day.

At the Gun Room (indoor/Elk Grove) they will take your DL, put it on a rack behind counter and after you get done shooting, you pay the range fee and they hand you back your DL. If they scan the DL, they do it while I am shooting. Next time there, I will ask...

I'm a non voting member at Sac Valley/Folsom Gun Club. There I give them my membership card number, get a wrist band then set up and shoot.The only time they looked at my DL was when I filled out the membership app. No scan of DL...

Insight shooting range might be old but they dont scan IDs they just take it and place it on a clip with your lane # written on it. Hell they don't even need an actual ID ive gone in with an old school id that just has my name on it.

Because I don't trust their system from being hacked and now some bad guy would have the addresses of a lot of gun owners for them to case and burglarize. Jackpot for them. No thanks. I'd like my personal info kept personal.

Couldn't imagine living that confined in a major metro area anymore. I moved closer to BLM and my new home's location was actually a requirement. I'm 2 minutes from shooting safely, and ~25 min from BLM.

Are you sure about that? I think that if they scan your DL and then when things happen and you go nuts in the future, they can see how many times you visited the range and then decide what level of swat guys to send after you. Like in GTA when you commit crimes and get stars to show you the type of enforcement that is coming for you.

Four swipes and the black suvs and helo are certainly going to be on the lookout and they are faster than whatever you are driving in too...

Stop trying to lead people to their slaughter... They need to know who is coming for them.

If they manually input the info the bad guy would still have it. If you're paranoid about your DL stripe use a strong magnet and erase it.

A large magnet across that black strip will erase all your personnal information. If any LEO questions you about the missing info, tell them you work around large magnetic fields.
