Simple. Possession of modern arms by the citizen population is the only reason America was ever possible. The founding fathers knew a govt afraid of its population is the only way to have some true freedoms.

The govt knows over time they can disarm us and control us, just like every other country ever. Might not be as obvious and ugly as say North Korea, but the effect is the same. We will lose what freedom remains.

Ripon83 Should be along shortly to inform you that merely asking such a question makes you an anti-American piece of trash that disgusts him and that you are exactly the type of person out benevolent leaders need to prepare to take action against.

The 2nd Amendment is there so the Citizens will always have the muscle to drive out the politicians and overthrow the Government and re establish another one if the politicians become corrupted by power and start denying the Citizens their Liberty.

One of my customers had his 13 yr old step sister visiting from England. We took her to a gun range and let her shoot my machine guns and suppressed pistols. She still tells him to thank me for that day.

What he told you is absolutely not true. I lived in England recently. My friends could either have a .22 rifle or a shotgun, kept in the home. ( landowners)
A bunch of hoops to jump through before getting approved, similar to our ccw process.
Interesting side note, if you choose a .22 it's almost considered anti-social to not get a supressor as well for the sake of the neighbors. No paperwork or approval necessary for getting a can.

                This is also true.
Since the EU "invasion", there are a lot of Bulgarians and the like cruising around with a pistol in their jacket and an AK at home.
They do private security for night-clubs and parties and stuff and ten times out of ten they're armed according to my buddy who owns a bar in Kent and is a popular DJ for big electronic music shows in London and hires them for big shows.

Last year I hosted a family from the UK for a day of shooting. The kids had never held a firearm before. The father had owned a variety of firearms in the UK including centerfire rifles, which he stored at home. He use to be a "gamekeeper" for several land owners (meaning that he used their land to shoot and hunt on). He had sold his collection before he started his family so, the kids had never experienced shooting firearms before. You need to prove you own or have access to enough land to support shooting whatever firearms you want. A .308 requires a minimum of ONE ACRE if you have an elevated shooting platform. If you are not a landowner with enough land or a "gamekeeper", you need to store your firearms at a licensed gun club. BTW, there are a lot of gun stores in the UK.

There is much fanfare in this thread for the 2A. I generally agree, but it is subject to opinion and judicial review. This easily lead to its degradation to the point of "shotgun permits" or aplications and home inspections to have a .22 rifle. This sort of nonsense could be interpreted as "preserving the 2A" since you will technically still have access to firearms.

What about the regular guy, living in his council house? Or his flat?

                        No guns for you.

I think people in England don't need guns because they can't use them to defend themselves.
But I don't know where is England . is it near by Africa?

Britain likely will be great once again after the common man over there has put up with enough of the elitist's **** (kind of like how America has a chance to be great again).

I'd be more worried about Germany falling back on old habits what with the influx of foreigners coming in disrespecting the local culture and threatening their taxpayer's wallets.
